I wonder why? I get that some people don't like you, you can be blunt and this is a political thread, but to dislike that fact that you help other people is petty and childish
Oh, I think you know....
.
i say take care of the needy ones first like our veterans and homeless and mentally ill, and then....take care of those not from this country.

in the case, Canada. I have seen a "refugee" claimant standing on the American side of the yellow line at a border crossing, and a lawyer already present to get him to have his shout of "refugee" recognized to cross that painted border line.
Yeah, that still doesn't mean "Anyone can declare himself a "refugee" receive immediate benefits, including a free lawyer". It means you say a specific situation and we don't know any details behind it. How do we know this? Amazingly, Canada also has a webpage that details how they accept and recognize someone as a refugee. Amazingly, I know, "standing on the American side of the border and shouting 'refugee' so a free lawyer can hear it" isn't one of those ways.
i don't know whether to laugh or weep.
us town rejects solar panels amid fears they 'suck up all the energy from the sun'...... jane mann, a retired science teacher, said she was concerned the panels would prevent plants in the area from photosynthesizing, stopping them from growing.
ms mann said she had seen areas near solar panels where plants are brown and dead because they did not get enough sunlight.
With the brains-trust they have in charge, how can anything go wrong
I can't see or hear "brain-trust" without thinking of this, which is somehow on topic:
i say take care of the needy ones first like our veterans and homeless and mentally ill, and then....take care of those not from this country.
Anyone can declare himself a "refugee" receive immediate benefits, including a free lawyer, whereas normal immigrants wait for years and are expected to pay fees for every move.
Yeah, that's not true.

Like what's more important, to brush your teeth or wipe your bum. They're both important and you do both. You don't use doing one as an excuse for not doing the other. Just ridiculous.

Personally, I feel some refugees are more in need and deserving of my help than someone who has squandered every opportunity in life but just happens to live locally.
Agreed. That's why I am personally helping a family through a local church. I also donate money to Wounded Warriors, volunteer at my local pet shelter, donate to Angel Flight and always do Angel Tree every year.
I'm trying to leave the world and at least a few people better than they were before I got here.

But we are about to bend over backwards and make it rain on a big group that really doesn't like us much.
What % of resources per country is going to the local needy vs. refugees? How do you know they don't like us? What specific portion of the vetting process are you troubled by?

Its weird to me that the people that a month or so ago were railing against Islamic ideology are today tacitly defending it and crying xenophobia because Trump happened to make a comment last week
Fair enough. What have you done lately )time donation, acting as an advocate, worked at a homeless shelter, donated money, etc.) to take care of our needy ones?
What do you think of those that actively try to defund healthcare, education and food services for a significant portion of our own population? Can they be trusted at all?

first of all immigration is a privilege not a right, the same as obtaining a driving license it's.
a privilege not a right.
my suggestion all muslims that seeking permanent resident or a visa.
Donald Trump is right, illegal immigrants have no right to be in the USA
Hence the word illegal. However, the question is "what do we do about it?"
These people need help, but safety measures should be put into place. Having refugees documented is not profiling, it's common sense.
In what sense are they not documented now?
