Same things happened when I told my kids years ago. Now, they laugh at how ridiculous it all is. Keep hope and work with them. It will work out somehow.

they cried like i'd never seen before.
my oldest, 10, pleaded with me that she'd do anything to get me to keep going to meetings ("i'll get a's on my report card!").

I said, "marriage is a preference"
You said, "being gay is not"
Preference
1. a greater liking for one alternative over another or others.
First choice of synonym: Choice http://thesaurus.com/browse/preference
Maybe before your pompous arrogant self gives english lessons you should understand basic vocabulary. The end.
Thanks for proving me correct. As usual, you said resort to insults when you can't make a coherent point or sentence. Insults are the refuge of the incompetent.

Just out of curiosity, do you guys think the African-American owned fried chicken place up the street from me should have to serve the KKK if they walk in and want to eat?
Of course not, they weren't born KKK. They have a choice on whether or not to be racist bigots.
Despite the other poster here claiming his friend was straight and liked women but was gay because women were too much trouble (a ridiculous piece of BS if I ever heard one), KKK members have the option to not be KKK.

Atheists, here is a 'balls' question ---even for all---
by prologos init is very difficult to knock a ball into a hole (like golf), throw it into a receiver's hands (american football) intercept it and knock it over the fence (american cricket).
or to put a sattelite at the right time at the right speed in the right direction in the right place to have it orbit another body, so :.
what ingenious natural & process is it, than can get 9+ zillions bodies to get into the right orbit simultaniously or sequentially and have them remain there for billions of years?

You're right about radar astronomy, prologos! I just learned something, thanks!
But, as charts and math have shown, you are 100% wrong about Bode-Titius hypothesis. Charts and math have proven that over and over.

Viviane - Wouldn't the SCOTUS not hearing the case in essence be making a ruling? We're not hearing the case as the lower court didn't err.
Some people are construing it that way, but they don't accept cases for lots of reasons. That could be their reasoning, they didn't say.
I used to fix fitness equipment and regularly went to a chain of women only gyms. Why is that ok?
Because they aren't open to the public, they require membership.

what exactly is that supposed to mean?
Exactly what it says.
Yes, I meant that even though someone is genetically predisposed to be gay, straight, an alcoholic, serial killer etc. doesn't mean that they don't have a choice in the matter.
Too bad that's not what you wrote. Glad I was able to help you understand your own writing!
Fuck off. In other words; please refrain from calling my friend a liar.
I didn't call your friend a liar. Perhaps you should try using reading comprehension?
You obviously didn't read the article as it makes my exact point. Genes don't denote a lack of choice.
Of course not, I never said that. For instance, you have a choice to stop continuing to be a foul mouthed, uneducated knucklehead!
Actually it's exactly what you did. You claimed being gay is not a choice.
It's not at all what I did. Again, reading comprehension is clearly not something you should attempt on your own. You might want some help next time, http://www.sylvanlearning.com/
For many gay people all it is is a choice regardless of their genetic predisposition. Hopefully that gives you an idea.
It tells me that you aren't good at critical thinking.

No problem! The thread title is misleading. The SCOTUS didn't make a ruling, they simply refused to hear an appeal.

Since I told myself weeks ago I would no longer attempt to have a rational discussion with chimps, you, Cofty and Snare are on your own.
Not a problem, I can hold my own.
