Theists, why does God allow suffering..

you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.

i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

OK, explain how crappy and unreliable ways of measuring things by people carrying around "engineering scales" in their pockets is relevant to you misunderstanding science, religion, logic and critical thinking, please.

He takes out his ruler, I saw him measure it and he tells me that it was not the correct size. I take out my engineering scale, I measured it once, twice, three times, and it was short.

I know this story is completely irrelevant and now how money is ever counted.

Anyway, you've done nothing to prove you worship anything but a bloodthirsty death god, despite your protests. Also, you clearly are ignoring arguments you don't like or can't refute. Simply using the word logic doesn't mean you are actually using logic.

Your logic seems irrefutable except that it contains an apparent intrinsic flaw: Why should God (4 intrinsic attributes) cause pain and suffering before a fall.

Why would he after a fall? Why would he NOT include it before a fall? If God is perfectly loving, why does he punish creatures that had absolutely nothing to do with the fall? In what sense could that ever be described as perfectly loving?

The one sided argument suggest that all creation was made to fail. The heavenly god depicted in the bible does not reflect that.

That's exactly the story portrayed in the Bible. The God there is capricious, bloody and loves him some baby penis. Also, the rest of your post is somewhere in la-la land.

Judging from friends and family, people who claim to have interest in Science , never really seem to have much of an interest in science outside of finding reasons to argue with religious people. It seems to more of a liberal arts thing, disguising itself in the guise of higher learning.

So... you've no actual grasp of science or how it works, yet feel that based on that ignorance and god-given gut instinct, you can pass judgement on it.Got it.

I have a few doctors and engineers in the family and they could care less about the origins of the species. It always seems to be the political science major that figures they have all the mysteries of the planet figured out.

Yes, we get it. You know someone and don't understand what they do or what they know and then make up stuff about other people. What of it?

Maybe I didn't make myself clear but someone like Richard Dawkins writing anti-Christian books and going on public speaking tours debating christian apologetics isn't real science

Of course it isn't. It is, however, entertaining to watch the apologists try to squirm out of logic and deny reality.

I wish people would realize their is an entire industry taking your money to give you a smug sense of morality superiority. It the same reason JWs manage to suck people into their cause.

Actually, not worshiping and defending a death cult is what gives me sense of moral superiority. Recognizing reality, what people like Dawkins and myself advocate, is the opposite of what allows people to be sucked into death cults like the JWs or regular Christianity.

Real science is being a doctor, curing diseases, being an engineer, working on the electric car etc etc.

So... you're saying Dawkins is a real scientist. Agreed. He is.

It just bugs me how everyone with a library card and a facebook page posting anti-Christian memes figures they are an evolutionary biologist now.

Making stuff up like that is how people become part of a death cult.
