Schoolyard bully mentality

i'm not naming names, but i just want to encourage people on here or on reddit or twitter, and tell you that you do not have to tolerate people who act like schoolyard bullies in the way they speak to you online.

i think anonymity is a big part of it.

they feel like there is zero accountability so they can be a bully all they want.. i recommend just ignoring or blocking anyone who is verbally abusive or treats you like schoolyard bullies treated you.. life is way too short to spend any time dealing with those kinds of people..

It's not. It's a comment on the whole "I'm not saying who, but I am making it plain who I mean" method of complaining. It' a comment on the method of whining where the person is making it plain who they are complaining about but simply don't have the fortitude to say so.

It's a rather childish method and calling that method out isn't a personal attack.

The language and TONE of atheists is rarely 'reasonable' and what would be considered acceptable in an academic debate. It's more like a dirty politics debate. Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.

I doubt you've any idea what the tone of academic debates are. Don't pretend to know things you don't.

You have I'm sure been a comfort to some lurkers here who are likely being turned off by the vitriol expressed against God.

God gave us cancers, polio, smallpox, birth defects, genetic defects, etc.. He gave us laws endorsing slavery and rape and commanded abortion, theft and genocide.

Why should there be anything but vitriol?

No, it doesn't. You're just mixing words up in a new type of salad, but it's still a word salad.

A deist /creator worker looms as a possibility to have originated and used that what we have now discovered at the fringes.

It could also be a teapot made of rhinocerus wool spoons. You've provided exactly as much evidence for either or any possibility.

I have no problem with people who say "I don't know."
I do have problem with people adamantly declaring they DO KNOW that no Designer exists.

Do you have a problem with people claiming they do know a Designer exists also? If not, why not? It's not like you have any evidence for it, as this thread shows.

Well you did entitle the thread the case for theism. I guess I just assumed you meant a personal God and not just "something".

Don't apologize. It's a common tactic for theists to present an "argument" and then, when pointed out that their claims don't match reality, the actual definition of words, etc., to whine and complain about being misunderstood and complain that words have specific meanings.

It's not your fault, it's a tactic to avoid having to say anything but sound like they did and play the victim when called on it.
