What did early Christians believe about the dead?
by fulltimestudent inas witnesses we were truly convinced that we knew the truth about the dead.
they were truly dead, and we often quoted ecclesiastes 9:4-6, our favourite proof text on that topic, to prove the point.
that text reads (just in case you've already forgotten it - smile), (from the niv):.

WHEN people leave a cult...MAN landed on the moon? Or critical thinking......
by The Rebel ini believe anyone who has voluntarily left a cult has shown they can adapt to new solutions, and have used " critical thinking" skills otherwise most would not have left.. yet i believe a safe place for support is still needed and this safe place i believe is searched for.. now i may not measure up to much in ways of education, but for me personally " critical thinking skills" = " new" a " new" way of thinking, that takes time for me the individual to be visual and to contemplate.
and the more i read about " critical thinking," the more convinced i am that i can live with the ridicule of those that claim i do not possess it.
furthermore i would say those that criticise others " critical thinking skills," often luck the sensibility and thoughts to snore, spit, and fart....nor would they understand a room full of tobacco smoke and cheap booze...where " critical thinking " can often be found in its most profound, in the most sensitive poems and "pictures" that were ever drawn.

Like you never left a question unanswered? Oh, sorry, I forgot... you were "bored". I told you I could keep going if you wanted to, which is more than a pinch ahead of not answering at all
I never claimed to answer every question. Try and stick with reality, please. It a crucial skill for critical thinking (there's some more enlightenment for you). As for the rest of comment, well, failed attempts at sacasm and wit are never pretty.

STA, "being the bigger person" and accusing someone of exactly your own faults are time honored tactics of someone who has nothing of value to say. On the plus side, you've move into angry accusing and away from whining, so there's movement. Not progress, but movement.

So then surely critical thinking must mean not taking what you read at face value, or taking a few words from a paragraph, and then holding those words up to the light, whilst leaving the rest of the paragraph in darkness?
It means the opposite, making as few guesses or assumptions as possible. It's not our job to guess what you mean. It's up to you to say it clearly.

STA... You asked me to enlighten you. There is no whining or making it personal in critical thinking. You and Rebel are both doing that. Don't blame "English as a second language" ( you chose to jump in these threads), don't blame me for what you said or not responding the way you want, don't pretend I'm acting as a moderator, don't pretend I've the power to demand anything of anyone or that what you worry about is any way my fault or that I never answer questions of me.
Consider yourself enlighented.

My god, it's like you just got training wheels.
Critical thinking is not like computing in anyway. And "garbage in/garbage out" is in no way specific c to databases, be it it oracle, SQL, MySQL, db2, Informix, terradata, exchange or something else.
You're trying to make a point when you don't even understand the concepts. I don't think you even understand the argument beyond "Viviane did something once that hurt my feelings".

JW's Approach To Bible Interpretaion
by JW_Rogue init will come as no surprise to many here that the jw approach to interpreting the bible is greatly flawed.
the reason that it is so flawed is that before anything is examined there are already some false assumptions that are made.
jws believe the following about the bible without evidence:.

A lot of whacko cults do that... Methodists, Catholics, baptists, JW, Mormons, Muslims, Buddhists, jainists, etc. -

If you've an issue with whether or not I accepted an apology from you on another thread, bring it up there. Don't threadjack here. I've no idea to which apology you refer.
I've no idea why parsing "may have some skills" is compatible with l"acking" is a problem for you.
I've no idea why you are under the impression that I have a responsibility to post when you think I should.
I cannot help which portions of reality you choose to take offense at.

It means they may have some critical thinking skills, not necessarily that they do. -

Gold = golf in the above. Also, I do happen to be on vacation, so if I don't respond, well, I'm likely inside the caldera of a volcano.
