Why would anyone condone the practice of slavery?, by the use of the subject matter even in a parable?was it because it was a norm of that era. Why didn't jesus condemn slavery? Was man supposedly not created to have free will. Surely to be a slave would be contrary to gods plan. And yet the J.W. / GB model themselves on the position as a slave . Why would that be something to be proud of, slaves have always been seen as , lowly , not worthy, under achievers. HEH THAT DESCRIBES THEM TO A TEE !!!.

Atheism and Theism are only partly right!
by abiather intoday we know that matter and energy are interchangeable, hence they are there always in either form, they are eternal, hence requires no creator.
hence atheism is right in rejecting a creator, but failed in providing any motivation for people to do good.
religions, in their effort to provide a motivating factor for humans to do good, introduced creation stories and other myths; hence they too are right (as far as their intention is concerned), yet failed in producing any worthy resultsworld was steadily moving from bad to worse and from worse to worst!.

The ability or desire of the human species to do good, stems from how we developed in our primitive past. Basically it stems from how we survived best with others. Humans must have realised as the brain developed that certain behaviors worked better with your family group /tribe or neighbours. This behavior (positive) was about cooperation which would better aid survival. This then became what we know as "good" .My conclusion therefore is there is no correlation between being atheist /theist and good. We all can be good, have morals because it stems from our need to survive and how we as individuals like to be treated. In my humble opinion of course .

Talking with a nonbeliever...
by suavojr inin my search for the truth and the burning desire to become free from all forms of dogma and wishful thinking.
i have approached my first crossroads in my life, should i continue to believe in a god or not?.
currently i am leaning toward agnosticism, but all the suffering in the world, all the loss and pain in my own life makes it hard for me to simply let go of the idea and hope that at the end justice will prevail, that one day god can make it all good.. .

Seraph, I know you'll understand the heart is a muscle. Science uses brain power. When was the last time you heard of a muscle finding a cure for disease?.
When did god ever cure a disease (apart from silly stories) So he or it is already irrelevant on that score. Is that me being naive?
Reasoning is of course a progressive process, why should it ever fail? By way of reasoning we contribute to this forum!
Finite time ..? Yes but within those immense constraints shouldn't we allow science and emotions to work together for the good of mankind, surely we have that amount of cognitive capacity . Its not all doom and gloom, lets find some happiness our head and ' heart ' can work together towards that goal. It doesn't have to be so complicated.

if all the trouble on this planet is down to satan and the demons, why not just get rid of them and then leave humankind alone and see how we go from there?
wouldn't a god who "is love" (1 john 4:8) full of mercy and justice at least try that first?

Wasn't the original sin supposed to be Adams,hence the need for ransom ie Jesus if the original sin goes back to the creator did he come to earth to forgive himself.I'm beginning to feel sorry for Satan/ snake and Adam/ eve.
