  so i was seating at the meeting this past sunday.

  the latest wt article to be studied speaks of "using our imagination" to think about the blessings of the kingdom.

  the whole study was centered around how we can, and should, spent time visualizing ourselves in the new world, working along with our brothers.

  This emotional technique has been used by jws since inception . They are arm in arm with so called ' babylon the great ' who also incite emotion in the same way by quoting scripture which promises hope of life after death, being united with dead relatives and paradise of whatever description. I am certain my own family ( parents ) were emotionally hooked by this fanciful notion by the jws as both had lost parents when they were children. I recall vividly the emotion whilst talking about meeting loved ones after the resurrection. I dont think we'd be surprised at just how many jws cling on to this fruitcake religion because of this emotional attachment. The jws are no more than another religion of the world with their own magnetic emotional slant of hope for the future.

  The wtbts was established with certain core beliefs which constituted a ' foundation ' which they widely published thereby recruiting followers who adhered to those beliefs. These beliefs were seen as the true understood word of god. These core ( foundation ) and subsequent beliefs have been rejected by the contemporary governing body. This rejection even if justified as ' new light ' is their own admission of the original foundational teachings/ beliefs having been unsound. Therefore they admit the original foundations of wtbts was unsound every time they announce new light.

  The watchtower , by their own admission was built on unsound foundations. This has been attested to by their rejection of ' the old teachings ' to which they no longer hold. Any structure built on shaky / inappropriate foundations will eventually to avoid collapse,have to be 'propped up ' therein lies the rub, there will always be those who will prop up or accept the reasons for such to maintain the survival of the original. Their investment ( for whatever reason ) is deemed too important to contemplate demolition.

  Propping up = NEW LIGHT.

  ok..before you start no i don't watch them but my family have a never ending need to watch "how i met your mother" and endless repeats of "friends" .

  canned laughter, one liners with pause so those of lesser brain can catch the 'humour'.

  i have to put up with the sound track.. thank god for the abc classic fm-radio.

  Hi zeb.. enough for me to say .. I absolutely agree, but it takes allsorts to make a world. Its akin to not being able to comprehend why imo people buy into religion, the canned laughter being analogous of the unreal provoking excitement to the gullible.

  Just received a visit from 2 Elders

  the elders did not stay long and it wasn`t an official visit sanctioned by the boe/cobe because they were not from my (ex)congregation.

  we talked a little about my situation and the fact that my wife does not talk to me and how non-scriptural her behavior is.. then they mentioned the rc and how it was the best convention for the last 20 years.

  one thing they did mention was the fact that the borg was clearly preparing them for persecution.

  Preparing them for persecution....it's all about mind controlling bias. They know through the medium of internet, social media etc' and the wider reporting and official enquiries into child abuse they are feeling a lot more pressure. What better way to keep the subservient troops on side than convince them they are unjustly under attack and to expect persecution, it all plays into the 'we must stick together come what may' attitude as opposed to ,..why not question/investigate the reasons their organisation attracts criticism.

  Another few minutes there would have been no ambiguity from the jw, he would have to eventually show his true colors and defend the gb ( and cohorts ) and organization. Whatever jesus is given credit for would be on the back burner !! It's pitiful there minds are so ensnared.

  To me the jesus 2000 yr old experiment has gone on way too long. Are we seriously saying that what is believed by christians to be the most important aspect of their existence is still open for interpretation? My question would be why? This christ/god character should be trashed as a massively failed experiment with no relevancy to contemporary life.

  he is a spirit and he can't enjoy physical things so he created it for us alone.

  The idea of god/ jehovah has given humans the ability to speculate, most of which is complete and utter nonsense. Alas the obsession seems to be permanent in some ! There are more worthwhile things to be concerned about.
