On a similar vein,my wife and I bought a house which was owned by an elder in which was held the Tuesday book study as well as a meeting place for field service. There was a gap of about 25 yrs between these events, i was well out of any association with the jws. When i eventually sold it ,strangely a lot of my neighbours came to view ,i found this rather strange as i did not think they were genuine prospective purchasers all was revealed when they said,oh we just wanted to see what it was like inside as we all knew this as the kingdom house ! I wonder what they thought the interior was like .probably the flow of lots of religious people coming and going was intriguing.

Oh the irony!!!
by stuckinarut2 injust wanted to share this funny thing.. so we have just been invited to a neighborhood xmas party to be held in the house of a lovely couple around the corner from us.. they bought the house a short time back from a jw who built it and lived there!.
so, we get to enjoy one of our first xmas parties as a couple, in the former house of a jw!.
now, that made me giggle.....

I walked out of the k'hall in the spring of 75 with my new wife after our marriage ceremony never to return. In those days my wife was not a baptised witness but she was having a bible study with an elder. We began to not answer the door when he called and never returned to the hall. Now by this time I had (I thought) cleansed my mind of watchtower, but began to have a form of mental breakdown not quite understanding why, it did not affect my day to day living but something was not quite right with me. I remember at this time a jw friend of mine (after a few beers) standing in the middle of the city street shouting "I can't believe this (the city buildings etc'),is all going to come crashing down soon! Yes I got over my 75 mental torment despite not believing anything would happen and went on to a better life,but let no one be,under any illusion the 75 time had profound effects thanks to,the idiocy of the hierarchy of the jw organisation.

@simon yes i think that morality as in good morals and honesty are good modes of conduct , i don't need wts to instil that for me. I have encountered jws who have admitted that without the 'truth' they may well go 'off the rails ' so to speak, one female even admitting she may end up being a prostitute! I give the wts no brownie points for conditional promotion of morals..honesty not being their strongpoint as has been documented to a great degree on this forum. How moralistic is it of them to have been grossly hypocritical on many issues again which have been discussed and verified on this forum. How moralistic of them to inculcate the youngsters with harmful mind altering videos with harmful content with the threat of deadly consequences for betraying the hierarchy and the sky daddy who requires them to bend the knee or suffer the consequences. There will be no apologetics from me. So anyone else want to list the good things the wts does, i for one cant think of any.

Anti-witnessing mistake by me !
by Phizzy ina couple of times while i was anti-witnessing i have made a fundamental mistake, which was to try to show the believer that it was neither intellectually nor scientifically necessary for there to be a creator.
the discussion got to this point because i said i was an atheist.. this latest time was talking to a street preacher who was not a j.w, but he did the same thing they do, i.e not really listen to the points i made, tried to rubbish science etc.. i have decided when, (if), this happens again i shall say something along the lines of " whoa there !
you have done a huge leap from talking about your bible god to the matter of a creator, if i concede there was a creator, how can you prove it was your god ?".

Eldub BIL, and Df'ed Kid's!!!!
by DwainBowman inmy super fine eldub bil, has a son that's been df'ed for a long time.
last month he deeded off 1/4 of an acre of land in the back of his pasture, bought a small local built used tiny house, and got it all set up, for his son to live in.
to everyone of the jw's in this area really look up to him and his stand on having nothing to do with his df'ed kid's or grandkids.

Are Jehovahs Witnesses false prophets
by joe134cd ini thought this was a very interesting argument by robert king.
i liked the point he made about if israel had a prophet who spoke in the name of jehovah and it did not occur did this mean that the nation of israel was a false prophet or more so if the nation of israel sincerely believed it.
the answer to that is a resounding no because the nation of israel was god’s appointed nation.
