The lion kills to naturally sustain itself, it does not consider its prey to be exotic. The hunter on the other other hand has killed this animal as a trophy of sport. I wonder how the person who did this would feel if his life was at risk by being seen as an object of sport?

cecil probably contributed to the deaths of hundreds if not thousands of animals.

@.caleb..@island man...the op asks the question of deliberate deception by the governing body, as the gb consists of more than one person we would have to assume the possibility that all members use deception simultaneously which imo is highly unlikely, or certain members are persuaded or possibly coerced into agreeing that a ' new understanding ' of a previously held belief should be presented to the jws as the spiritual food from jehovah gained through them by means of the holy spirit. It is this second scenario where I believe there is deliberate deception..eg the understanding of ' the generation ' notice the gb aka fds did not change their understanding of matt.24:34 until the realisation that their then teaching ( supposedly gained by jehovahs holy spirit direction ) did not 'add up ' to subsequently then change to a different understanding involves not only wilfully or unknowingly deceiving themselves as a whole or by majority binding decision ( and would we ever know if there was dissent ) but also as a result deceives the so called domestics.
As for ideologies (bodies or ideas of a group religious or otherwise ) imo there can be no more a fundamental ideology than the whole basis of jws believing that the fds/ gb is directed by jehovahs holy spirit to provide their spiritual nourishment, the fact that they use the deception of ' new light ' to justify their beliefs is built in to the construct of their continuing existence, otherwise they would be a much reduced religion or exist at all to the present. They are imo a religion which exists entirely through deception.

@Caleb...re. Japanese imperial 'new light ' would you agree that new policy formed from known and compulsive evidence to enhance a cause is diametrically opposed to the gb's make it up as we go along because we're in a corner attitude? I see it as deception for survival at the expense of the gullible.

@ calebinFloroda:...your comparisons to imperial Japan, isis and nazism would ring truer if it were not for the governing body/fds conjuring ' new light ' which nullifies their previous ideologically held belief systems. Your comparitive examples strictly held or hold to their ideologies to the death.

When David splane (gb member ) exclaimed in his stanley theatre adress regarding : ' who are the fds ' he admits it was an 'idea' which he refers to as " we love this idea ". Where do they get this idea or notion?imo it's pulled out of their collective asses to steer their hypocritical organisation in the direction which suits their knowingly deceptive purpose of control over their directed unquestioning adherents.
Yes I think deception stares out of their eyes while inwardly knowing to question their unqualified authority must not dare to be challenged.
They are charlatans of the highest degree.

the latest wt article to be studied speaks of "using our imagination" to think about the blessings of the kingdom.
the whole study was centered around how we can, and should, spent time visualizing ourselves in the new world, working along with our brothers.

This emotional technique has been used by jws since inception . They are arm in arm with so called ' babylon the great ' who also incite emotion in the same way by quoting scripture which promises hope of life after death, being united with dead relatives and paradise of whatever description. I am certain my own family ( parents ) were emotionally hooked by this fanciful notion by the jws as both had lost parents when they were children. I recall vividly the emotion whilst talking about meeting loved ones after the resurrection. I dont think we'd be surprised at just how many jws cling on to this fruitcake religion because of this emotional attachment. The jws are no more than another religion of the world with their own magnetic emotional slant of hope for the future. -

The wtbts was established with certain core beliefs which constituted a ' foundation ' which they widely published thereby recruiting followers who adhered to those beliefs. These beliefs were seen as the true understood word of god. These core ( foundation ) and subsequent beliefs have been rejected by the contemporary governing body. This rejection even if justified as ' new light ' is their own admission of the original foundational teachings/ beliefs having been unsound. Therefore they admit the original foundations of wtbts was unsound every time they announce new light.

The watchtower , by their own admission was built on unsound foundations. This has been attested to by their rejection of ' the old teachings ' to which they no longer hold. Any structure built on shaky / inappropriate foundations will eventually to avoid collapse,have to be 'propped up ' therein lies the rub, there will always be those who will prop up or accept the reasons for such to maintain the survival of the original. Their investment ( for whatever reason ) is deemed too important to contemplate demolition.
Propping up = NEW LIGHT.
