most random people who knock on the door politely introduce themselves when you open the door.. for example "hello, i'm derick from unicef and i'm looking for donations blah blah blah".
now annoying as it may be for some at least he had the courtesy to introduce himself.. why don't jw's do this?
is it because they are embarressed or perhaps they know you won't take their literature if they do?.
The previous time they knocked they started talking about something until I interrupted and asked "Jehovah's Witnesses?" at which they both smiled and replied "yes".
I said "No thank you" as I wasn't up for discussion. The chap smiled politely but the woman with said "No?", I again said "No thank you" and she again asked "No?" but it was the tone she used, it was like a smug satisfying 'how dare you say no, well you had your chance' and they both walked away.
I may engage them next time but last time I had a discussion they obviously assumed I was interested and returned a week later depsite me asking them not to make me a return visit.
"for you must not prostrate yourself to another god, because jehovah, whose name is jealous, he is a jealous god," exodus 34:14 nwt 1984 edition.
"you must not bow down to another god, for jehovah is known for requiring exclusive devotion.
yes, he is a god who requires exclusive devotion.
I haven't read the whole thread but this is a big change of scripture.
Jealousy is an emotion so why have WT removed this emotion of their god.
Maybe they don't like god having this emotion.

Thanks for the replies. It does seem sneaky.
Next time they knock I will ask them why and thell them I find it rude.

Thanks blondie. I was thinking this may have been asked previously.

Why don't JW's do this? Is it because they are embarressed or perhaps they know you won't take their literature if they do?
I find this slightly rude and deceiving, especially coming from people who are supossed to be fine examples of 'good christian folk'.
The only company I know of that doesn't always introduce themselves first at the door is Safestyle and anyone who has used them will probably understand why.
