Sheep and the Goats - The Light Gets Brighter
by nmthinker inperhaps some of you remember a new understanding of the sheep and the goats in the epic march 2015 wt study edition - specifically the article "loyally supporting christ's brothers".. while this article was studied many months ago, it was instrumental in helping me wake up.
during my study of the 2015 article i recalled that we had just revised our understanding of the sheep and the goats a few years ago and this caused me to research the real progression of the jw understanding of this parable.
i put the results of my research in an excel spreadsheet.. .

I know of 2 witness deaths from refusing blood transfusions.
The first was Josh Tripptree. He was diagnosed with an aggressive type of leukemia at age 16 in 2004 i think. His parents refused blood treatments for a while but the hospital(valley childrens hospital of madera, ca)was able to get a court order to overide the parents authority and administer blood transfusions since he was under age, but the treatments didn't start early enough and from diagnosis till his death was only about a month in length.
The second death was my friend Melissa postal from Temecula, CA(smith I think was her married name) She was about 25 back in 2005 when she bled out after a massive blood clot was dislodged a couple hours after she gave birth. She refused blood and went in for an emergency hysterectomy but passed away on the operating table. Her death really freaked me out at the time as I was also pregnant at the time with my first kid and due a couple months after her. I've never been so scared in my life. I didn't want to give birth. Lucky for me things went smooth but very tragic for melissa. Her son never got to know her.

The prank I always wanted to do was make paper airplanes during the meeting and then just soar them over everyone's heads. -

The craziest thing to happen to me was in our rural part of the territory there were some very isolated houses. This one particular house didn't come into view until the last minute when you were practically in the front yard. When we pulled up there was a full on naked guy working in his garden patch trying to hide behind his tomato plants which thankfully were tall enough to hide him while we talked to him a ways off. The funny thing was he was wearing some tall rubber garden boots which the sisters and I later joked about that at least we could count on him practicing safe sex, he wears his rubbers. -

Why did you choose Jehovahs Witnesses?
by vinman ini'm wondering why ones on this forum initially became jw's.
if you were born in, why did you make it "your own"?
if you became one later, what was your draw and driving force?

Question_Mans_interpretation
I was born into it, 4th generation. My whole family is jw with the exception of 2 of my moms sisters. I was Baptized at 16 not because I "made it my own" but because that's what my family expected and what I thought was pleasing god. I went along with the religion until a little while ago because I thought they were "gods people", and it didn't feel right to question god or go against his "organization ". Finally was able to separate god from men who self proclaim gods backing. -

Oh wow. Amazing job on this flow chart. I want to print it up and sneak it into my mom's purse or car, or, better yet just litter my old kingdom hall parking lot with flyers of the chart. If this doesn't help stir minds then they are a lost cause -

I just took the human metrics test and I got a slightly different result, ESFJ.
I think my first results with the 16 personalities test was more accurate and the questions I feel were worded better for me to comprehend and decide what to choose.
Also The thinking and feeling percentages were really close to neutral so I guess I'm borderline ESTJ or ESFJ.

I got ESTJ-A (The Executive)
Extraverted- 41%
Observant-54%
Thinking-7%
Judging -34%
Assertive -14%
Role- Sentinel
Strategy- people mastery
I was a born in jdub and I think this is fairly accurate currently. Had I taken this test when still under the watchtowers thumb I know my results would have been way different, definitely an introvert result. I didn't start to be outgoing until I realized "worldly" people were just people and not under satans influence and that they don't bite so its ok to say hi. As I leave more and more of my old mindset behind I do see more positive changes to my personality. I will have to retake this test in the years to come to see if it stays or changes.
