I noticed some interesting things at the "Bible Study"..ahem... Here is the quote:

    Holy Name, Holy Spirit

    13) God’s holy name has been impugned, besmirched with lies and slander. In Eden, Satan lied about Jehovah and implied that He is an unjust Sovereign. (Genesis 3:1-5) Since then, Satan—the ruler of this unholy world—has made sure that lies about God have proliferated. (John 8:44; 12:31; Revelation 12:9) Religions have painted God as arbitrary, remote, or cruel. They have claimed to have his backing in their bloodthirsty wars. The credit for God’s marvelous acts of creation has often been given to blind chance, or evolution. Yes, God’s name has been viciously maligned. It must be sanctified; its rightful glory must be restored. We long for the sanctification of his name and the vindication of his sovereignty, and we delight to play any part in that grand purpose.

What does arbitrary mean? According to Websters:

a : based on or determined by individual preference or convenience rather than by necessity or the intrinsic nature of something <an arbitrary standard> <take any arbitrarypositive number> <arbitrary division of historical studies into watertight compartments — A. J. Toynbee>

b : existing or coming about seemingly at random or by chance or as a capricious and unreasonable act of will <when a task is not seen in a meaningful context it is experienced as being arbitrary — Nehemiah Jordan> I was wondering how the WTBTS is any different than other "false" religions in this regard? What could be more random than God saving some chickens in Myanmar, but letting countless humans die for various reasons? What could be more arbitrary than a JW waitress getting the exact amount of tips she needs, but letting Whitney Heichel be murdered? What is more unreasonable than claiming that God stopped the humidity so the "Silver Sword" could be printed, mistakes and all, but allowed a faithful Sister to kill a passenger and nearly die while on the way to the Memorial? Is there anything more capricious than "spirit-directing" the appointment or reappointment of child predators to positions of religious authority?

Isn't the WTBTS quilty of painting God as arbitrary, remote, and cruel? How does a God who multiplies chickens, but let's pioneers be mauled by pit-bulls inspire trust? How can JWs honestly believe that God intervenes in some cases but not in the others? This makes God far more mysterious and illogical than "Christendom's" view of, " We don't know, the Lord works in mysterious ways."

2 Peter 2:1,2: However, there also came to be false prophets among the people, as there will also be false teachers among YOU. These very ones will quietly bring in destructive sects and will disown even the owner that bought them, bringing speedy destruction upon themselves. 2 Furthermore, many will follow their acts of loose conduct, and on account of these the way of the truth will be spoken of abusively.

There was another paragraph dealing with the Holy Spirit...

14 There is something else intimately associated with Jehovah that is almost invariably called holy—his spirit, or active force. (Genesis 1:2) Jehovah uses this irresistible force to accomplish his purposes. All that God does, he carries out in a holy, pure, and clean way, so his active force is well named holy spirit, or spirit of holiness. (Luke 11:13; Romans 1:4) Blaspheming the holy spirit, which involves deliberately working against Jehovah’s purposes, constitutes an unforgivable sin.—Mark 3:29.

What does God use the holy spirit or spirit of holiness for?

    Hebrews 10: 1, 15-18

10 For since the Law has a shadow of the good things to come, but not the very substance of the things, [men] can never with the same sacrifices from year to year which they offer continually make those who approach perfect

15 Moreover, the holy spirit also bears witness to us, for after it has said: 16 “‘This is the covenant that I shall covenant toward them after those days,’ says Jehovah. ‘I will put my laws in their hearts, and in their minds I shall write them,’” 17 [it says afterwards:] “And I shall by no means call their sins and their lawless deeds to mind anymore.” 18 Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

    Mark 1:7,8

And he would preach, saying: “After me someone stronger than I am is coming; I am not fit to stoop and untie the laces of his sandals. 8 I baptized YOU with water, but he will baptize YOU with holy spirit.”

If the WTBTS are interfering with people being baptized with Holy Spirit intentionally.......

Many have wondered just the same thing dear Data-dog. Clearly, those chickens of which you speak were leading a theocratic life of submission to Jehovah and his organization. On the other hand, the situation involving the pioneer that was attacked by a vicious dog while in the ministry only appears confusing to those that do not know our God of love, justice, wisdom and power. - 1 John 4:8

For example, unfortunate as this is, it could simply have been an example how "time and unforseen occurrence" befall us all. - Ecclesiastes 9:11,12

Additionally, we must not rule out the possibility that this woman may have been involved in some "secret sin," and thus grieving the Holy Spirit. (Proverbs 28:13, 1 Thessalonians 5:19) Those who do such things cannot expect Jehovah's loving blessing as was evident with the theocratic chickens.

That clears it up! Thanks and sorry about the spacing and spelling.. There should be a space in here:

b : existing or coming about seemingly at random or by chance or as a capricious and unreasonable act of will <when a task is not seen in a meaningful context it is experienced as being arbitrary — Nehemiah Jordan>

    Also, it's "guilty" not "quilty."

I think religions are guilty of accepting the picture painted of him by the OT. If God truly inspired the bible isn't he the one to blame for his image? Isn't he the one that inspired the writing of those very difficult to read accounts in the OT?

Good question, Island Man! I don't know exactly how I feel about the Bible cannon. I am amazed that JWs believe in a cannon that was organized by "false religion." Shouldn't the FDS be "adjusting" this?! LOL!! The OT accounts of "JEHOVAH" giving people piles, and slaughtering people by the thousands for someone else's sins is hard to understand.

So is the belief that God is directing the preaching work with angels. Those same angels just watch as JWs get decapitated on the way to an assembly, aka, The Big Congregation... What are those guys doing all day???

    Oh yeah...
