First of all 'other' churches do not feel the need to distinguish between Bob God, Joe God and Jehovah God. Nor do they use a 'name' as a charm or mantra like jw's seem to and the early pagans.

    Jesus was satisfied with "Father".

Jehovah's witnesses need a charm-braclet mentallity to crutch their faith, I fear. They call on Jehovah - but the Tet was prob closer to Yahweh. No one knows I suppose. But Jw's have a need to feel superior to keep them in the grips of Brooklyn Mother. Thinking they possess special 'truth', including that of God's actual name works. So they use it!

How many thousand years has it been since he talked to men on earth? Why doesn't he just tell us so we can use it correctly or did he go off somewhere and forget to come back? Did Jesus pronounce his name even once? Depending on which Christain religion you look at, most will say Jesus was Jehovah and the Holy Shit, I mean Spirit. Who really cares anyway, you can call out Jehovah, Father, God, Jesus or whoever and no one answers, except maybe in your imagination.

    I'm a bad mood today.

    ...in Ken's name, amen.

I have been to a few churches, spoken to a few ministers and pastors, and they all agreed the normal used pronounciation is Jehovah, though no one uses it.

Witnesses are the ones who get all hung up about it.

You know when I was first new to all of this bizzaro crap (no offense see cabernet thread) I always thought they seemed more interested in a 'name' rather than what was behind the name- being God (in my mind anyway). As if going around saying 'we are the only ones saying jehova', now get them to go beyond that and they cannot, often. They will still turn around and say 'we are the only ones' no matter the question. And they are not the only ones who use the 'name'. Point that out and they still will say the same thing, only 'we use it more'. Nobody ever answers my question in another thread for all the other 'names' used for God. freaks.
