I specialise in Employment and Labour law and within an employment context the awards of compensation for injury to feelings in any discrimination claim are based upon one leading Court of Appeal case which sets out guidelines as to what should be paid by the respondent/defendent and in what circumstances. Vento v Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police [2002] EWCA Civ 1871 (20 December 2002)Also too the statutory and legal wording of the respective Acts are essentially the same also.
From this I would suggest the law views these forms of bigotry as the same...and from a personal perspective so do I!
