Researchers wanting to gain credibility would not seek Archaya's endorsement. Unfortunately even good research is easily misused. As Narkissos has pointed out Yahweh evolved with the culture and times. Yahweh first aquired the attributes and epithets of the rival gods, then his character needed an archNemesis when it became deemed philosophically unfitting to attribute evil and negative qualities to a god who had recently risen to omiscience, omnipotence and moral excellence and yet some explanation for evil was felt necessary. Evenetually his name was an embarrassment and was dropped in favor of titles Lord and God, Father. I should also say that similar evolution of gods occured elsewhwere. Even Baal Hadad rose in similar fashion to superceed his father El among his devotes. If the cult had not been absorbed entirely, in all likelyhood Baal today would resemble the Christian father of Jesus.

I know Acharya S in real life, and even know her secret identity. I sure as Hades don't see YOU writing any books and managing to get them published. Acharya S has done everyone a tremendous service in both her books, as well as her website.
I'm quite sure Fundiot "scholars" give her no credibility at all. That's certainly not so with REAL scholars. Granted, The Christ Conspiracy is not a perfect work, but whose is? YOURS? LOL. RRRRight.NNNNNNate

Nate, first off I'm hardly a Fundie apologist, in fact I am of the christ myth camp and have posted such here for years. I have however gradually learned to be more cautious of my sources when debating apologists. Dorothy Melne Murdock (Archaya S.) has introduced many to a 'history of religion' approach to Christian origins and for this reason she has done a service. However she unfortunately not just makes errors in statements she lacks the sober and cautious methodology needed to sort through the misinformation of her predecessors. Also her obsession with mysticism colors her work making it a swimming collage' of fact and fiction. I wish you well in your endeavour to grow in understanding as I'm sure you do in mine.
