    Source editor vandalizes church

NEW YORK, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- The editor of The Source magazine admitted to vandalizing a Jehovah's Witness assembly hall in New York's Harlem neighborhood.

Dasun Allah, editor of the hip-hop magazine, told the New York Post he "tagged" the building to expose the religion's "hypocrisy."

Police were called to the scene where Allah had painted a number of cryptic symbols, but the graffifi had been painted over by then, the Post said Friday.

Allah, 32, said he was kicked out of his Jehovah's Witnesses church more than 13 years ago and now belongs to the Islam-based Nation of Gods and Earths.

"They said I didn't fit the criteria, because, to put it lightly, I wasn't a choirboy," Allah said.

I'm intrigued as well. It seems like they painted over it rather quickly.

I didn't hear about this. It's interesting to know.

Typical. A lot of people who leave cults join others afterwards.

I've seen some of the pseudo-muslim underground american made up revisions before. They sometimes do have pointless symbolism so it would be interesting to know what he wrote.

Sadly, when some people exit the witnesses they simply swap one set of bigoted beliefs for another.

    By HASANI GITTENS

October 27, 2005 -- The editor of self-proclaimed "hip-hop Bible" The Source magazine turned himself in last night to face charges of desecrating a Jehovah's Witness assembly hall in Harlem.

David Allen Blanks, 32, was charged with criminal mischief and spreading graffiti and is scheduled for an arraignment hearing today in Manhattan Criminal Court.

Blanks, who's admitted spray-painting the building, appeared unrepentant as he told reporters outside the 32nd Precinct station house:

"They [the Witnesses] know why I did it. They mentally molested me. They broke up my family...
