I would most definitely do something about it... call the school and the police both... like everyone else said, you have to have it on record, whether they are teens or adults or whatever. Teens do stupid sick things, too... they're not always just fooling around. Just have it on record in case anything further happens... to them or to anyone else.

I would phone the school and the police. Ask the girls if they could give a description of these guys, and where exactly they saw them. If they can tell the police what kind of clothing they had on, their approximate age, etc. the cops could keep their eyes out for them.

Are they taking a faster route home but has less people around? Ask. If so tell them to go a longer way home but on busy streets. It may take longer but less likely to be a problem. Men seem to attack on less crowded streets. The faster way may not be the best.

Certainly not overreacting where there are children involved..better to be safe than sorry and certainly commend them for informing you. Obviously they did not feel safe or they wouldn't have mentioned it, let them continue to feel safe by knowing when they confide in you that you take care of it.

They take the shorter way home they have to cross a park and three long blocks to get home, it is a residential street and not many people are at home at 2:00 in the afternoon.

How about the particular block this happened on? Busy or no one else around?

They may just need to avoid that alleyway. At the least walk across the street if not go around that one block.

Hell no, you're not over reacting! Call the cops and get the neighborhood watch involved. Find out who those punks are!

I'd have been on the phone to the police as soon as the words came out of their mouths. Then I would make sure the school knew about this. No matter what the intentions of the men, they had no business chasing and speaking foul language to 12 year old school children. Call the police as soon as possible.

My sentiments exactly! Believe me, you don't want to be in the position of looking back and wishing you'd done something.
