I just lost my favourite ring - the little brass signet band my grandfather gave me when I was 9 and I have worn every minute sinceI was 9. I went franctic and then retraced my steps and found it on the downstairs bathroom floor - tucked under the rug and was finally calm. Have you ever lost anything and had it found or returned unusually or unexpectedly?

Don't tell me you're at a loss for words.
Ah, now there's some text!!!
I lost a DVD and it took several months to find. One thing I'm still puzzled about is a half full bottle of beer I lost about 6 months ago. I was in the basement with my beer when I heard the phone ring upstairs. I grabbed the beer and ran up. The beer disappeared, and so did the bottle. I've searched the house from top to bottom but can't find it. I was very upset because it was my last beer. I told my JW mom about it and she said maybe the demons drank it, so I asked her if they returned the empty bottle for a refund too.

Awe Crumpet, I'm so glad you found it! Wow especially since it was a gift from your grandfather when you were so young.
My husband bought me a beautiful 10 karat heart shaped ruby necklace a couple years back for our anniversary and a few months ago the chain had broken. I repaired it myself and wore it out, we went everywhere that day and when we returned home I noticed it had fallen off and I was so upset. It was just lucky for me it had fallen off at my In-laws house and they had already found it by the time I noticed it missing. But for awhile there I was so sick to my stomache!

I lost my cat out of a closed room last week - no, seriously, I haven't a clue how she got past me without being seen. I hunted all over the room, finally gave up looking after about 10 minutes and went to sit down in the living room - and there she was.
My sister lost her expensive engagement ring, fortunately it was insured so she claimed, having searched for almost a month and lost all hope of seeing it again. It turned up THREE YEARS later, it had fell down the side of her bed and wedged between the floorboards somehow. Amazing.
I'm glad you found your ring, the sentimental value is the part that can never be replaced when something gets lost.

Girls totally understand each other when it comes to losing something precious don't they - i felt my stomach nose dive too. I also knew I would find it - I dread the time I lose it and I know that I'm not going to find it. Its the sentinmental value as last poster said. I don;t think I could get that sentimental about a missing half beer, but you never know!

I usually lose the keys to my car...but somehow...they always show up. My specks run and hide from me also! I think they play "Hide and Seek"

horrible life
This is going to sound very bad. And I get pangs of guilt sometimes. I need to make it right, but not sure how.
I worked at a big store. I saw something on the floor, under a plant. It was a gold bracelet. About the time I picked it up, I was called to another department. I stuck it in my pocket. I still had it when I got home. I had forgotten about it. I really am overly honest.
The next day at work, it was mentioned that a girl (customer) had lost a bracelet, that her grandmother had given her. If anyone found it, turn it in. Well I couldn't, it was at home!! And how would that look on me. So I have kept it for 23 years now. I have never worn it. This happened 200 miles from where I live now.
I thought about running a newspaper ad, what would it say? If someone described it, I would know it was theirs. Well this has really been a downer. It is 20 feet from me right now, in a drawer, that is never looked in. I can picture it very clearly. I am going to HELL. HL
