in german there is a word called Schadenfreude...it means joy at anothers suffering...i wrote a song about it
you think it's funny yeah.....when people cry
you think it's funny yeah.....when people die
is it a sign for you.....the end is near
relieves you of the blame.....the fault is clear
the pain and misery.....of someone else
thats how it's s'posed to be.....dont blame yourself
the joy of suffering.....unbridled glee
the happiness it brings.....is plain to see
and we call this.....sha-den-frued
you're so respectable.....so sure you're right
it's unacceptable.....it's someone's plight
you turn your face away.....and hide your smile
i used to do this too.....i think it's vile
and we call this.....sha-den-frued
you're so respectable.....so sure you're right
it's unacceptable.....it's someone's plight
you turn your face away.....suppress your grin
it's an ommision yeah.....and that's a sin
and we call this.....sha-den-frued
and we call this.....sha-den-frued
Heres one from a song that I heard. When I hear the song, it reminds me of all the people here that got tired of all the lies, the pain, the hurt, the abuse and stood up for what they believed to be right, by speaking up and not keeping silent, even with the threat of losing family and friends.
Can't Keep Me Silent
Well I guess, it's human nature
How people out talk eachother
But then, we face the danger
Of only listening to ourselves
In the pressure of the situation
I won't let my toungue get tied
A silent voice in the congregation
I refuse to live a lie
[Chorus]
Can't keep me silent
Can't keep me silent
Can't keep me silent
Can't keep me silent
Can't keep me silent
Can't keep me silent
Well I guess, it's human nature
How people out talk eachother
But then, we face the danger
Of only listening to ourselves
In the pressure of the situation
I won't let my toungue get tied
A silent voice in the congregation
I refuse to live a lie
[Chorus]
Thats what I think about when I hear it anyway.
