The Watchtower's Unbalanced View of the Internet

In articles concerning the internet, some of which have been titled "A Balanced View of the Internet", The Watchtower devotes the first paragraph or two to the benefits that the internet offers and has provided.

Then for the rest of the article they go on and on about the dangers and evils of the internet.

They have been consistent in writing in this manner in all the articles they have written concerning the internet.

Can The Watchtower itself truly be said to have a "balanced" view of the internet?

As one example, from The Watchtower's website,

No, they do not and cannot have a balanced view of the internet. The internet, with its free flow of information and inquiry, is the stuff of nightmares for the Brooklyn Oracles! The internet will be the undoing of the WTBTS in the USA and other developed countries with internet access.

Where's the part about praying before signing on .LOL jeezus they act like everybody is a friggen porn addict . This is the 21st century and the world is getting more and more high tech , to survive you better be able to use a computer , darn near that way now . There are alot of things you can do online that does not involve pornography . Anyway I don't think your eyes will melt into the sockets if you should happen to find some . I do however feel that the internet is an adult playground and should not be regulated by government just because some idiot lets their kid chat in adult rooms . I think it is unbelievable the extent people go to infringe on others rights and freedoms around here .

LOL! That's hillarious! They are clearly using Windows XP. But I doubt a screenshot would constitute copyright infringement.

After assessing the dangers, some people have concluded that it is better for them to avoid using the Internet altogether. However, it must be acknowledged that only a small percentage of sites on the Internet pose a danger and that most users have not experienced serious problems.

That is the "medicine" in the spoonful of sugar they fed the R&F in this article. They want people to feel they are going the "extra mile" themselves and just not get on the Internet.

As more and more people get online and get in "trouble" with the elders, their counsel will likely be to just "avoid using the Internet altogether".

Why? Because it is in print. If it is in print then it MUST be true!

The scariest thing to the WTBS is access to information.

And what is the article trying to suggest about the internet by using this picture?

Go online using a notebook, and you will start smoking?

    Ridiculous!
