I remember a discussion back in about 1956 about witness going to a voting booth, and marking in Jesus Christ as their selection. Never heard anything more about it until about four years ago when the CO read a quote from a 1950 WT that made that statement. Then he applied it to the situation today if a witness was required to vote. I was very upset by this because I remembered the brothers in Cameroon and other countries during the decades that followed the 1950's who refused to go to the polls and, as a result, were beaten and raped. I wondered why it was OK, not OK, and now OK again. The CO was applying to "other" countries that require a citizen to vote. Then he said, if you employer requires it, you should consult with the elders.
