Real crocodile tears, eh HS?
How terrible that these men believe that they are doing right yet at the same time proclaiming themselves the 'true' Christians.
Cheers,
Ozzie

Although there was the one elder, who right in the middle of his public talk, announced, "I'm sorry. I don't even believe this." And walked off the stage and out the door, never to return.
I'm with telecom. Some secret sin he's hiding for sure.
Hi Philo,
I'm curious about what you say here:
"...I wonder if the org has ever considered making changes to allow people to do that."
Exactly what changes would actually cause/ manipulate you to "return"? And just what would "returning" entail? Your terms or theirs (GB)?
Sincerely, sKally
We have an old, miserable PO in our congregation that crys at the drop of a nickel - before he puts his foot over it to keep it.
He acts all old and befuddled (and he usually is) but he's been putting on that act for years - to his benefit only.
He slanders, gossips, etc., and when finally caught, he sat in the meeting literally crying about he "doesn't remember saying any such thing......would be a sin......and he would never, ever, sin......."
And he walks out of the meeting sinless and blameless till the next time.
Even the other, more modest, sisters would whisper "watch out, he's crying."
I don't like him AT ALL....... is it obvious?
waiting
Waiting, it just dawned on me who this redneck is. He's been pulling that for decades.
I'll tell you what else used to rankle me. During N. H. Knorr's final prayers at large district conventions, attendees used to get rather weepy at his loving beseechments to the Creator.
Then he would march directly to the Administration Office and tear into some poor unsuspecting soul guilty of some minor slight or infringement of theocratic protocol. The change in character was incredible who did not know him, typical for those of us who did. With NHK, you never knew whether you would get hit or hugged.
If Kankaanpaa wept, it likely was in contemplation of a visit from GB member Ted Jaracz with declining figures in hand ....
Max
Hey Max,
I was hoping you'd spot an old PO crying Professional.........
Our PO is still kicking around. The elders "under" him are trained to be just like him - lying bunch of mild-mannered elitists. Our KH has diminished so much in members - and the affairs, theives, slander court cases, etc., have become well known even among "worldly" people.
As of this writing, two elders have been brought in from different congregations to try and help stabilize our cong. One was in our store yesterday - he knew who I was. We talked briefly about his being assigned to our cong.
He just laughed gently and said "Boy, that congregation sure has some problems. He stood there shaking his head.
Seemingly nice man, about 40. But now it's too late for me - I learned to read with some comprehension!
Thanks Max!

I went to my dissfellowshipping announcement and didn't get any sobs from the platform!!!!!
Damn I feel cheated
Can I get my money back! :)
G'day Max,
I've seen NHK's type of behaviour coming from Branch Coordinators. Perhaps they've been 'trained' that way!
It seems the Bethelites who daily witness this type of conduct must be like the servants of the king with no clothes. They would never tell him the real truth, only what he wanted to hear. Similarly Bethelites close their minds to the reality of what happens around them. After all, they must be thinking, this is God's organisation!
Cheers,
Ozzie

Precisely so. Dysfunctional fathers beget dysfunctional families.
The thinking goes: "I don't see Christian love myself, but I know it exists because I read of it in the Watchtower. We get to hear these wonderful letters pouring in, thanking the governing body for their loving-kindness; so it's out there somewhere." (Tell that to the French Branch, now getting beat up by Ted Jaracz and company, in person. Check it out, Charles/Chasson.)
Another: "Our test is to see human imperfection and to pay no attention to it."
And the best: "I don't care what you say, it's still God's organization. He'll fix it in due time."
Max
What has the French branch done wrong?
