Yes, I'd heard of this. That said, I can also express how glad I am that my "awakening" has occurred just in time for my daughter to start college. She's 18, and just started two months ago!

It sounds like your sister in law was getting some issues off her chest and felt you were a safe person to confide in. Maybe her hubby won't listen or she's afraid to talk with him.

Yes it does. Although my family is full of particularly zealous JWs--I have trouble believing that I will be the ONLY one to figure it out.

I know exactly what you mean. It does seem, however, that when someone who is from a zealous family leaves (without the usual problems of sex and/or drugs[in the dubs minds]) that a ripple does occur within the rest of the family members. A disbelief if you will that someone would leave and not be df'd for something heinous. That ripple may be just the shock some of the younger or wiser members need to think for a second.
