No, no, Mary. It's recycled information they use.

There's a great article on Wikipedia explaining the FDS:
Thanks, Now I have a better picture of the FDS.....Now if only there was a search for the BANK in which the WTS keeps it's stash of donations. I didn't read anything about a Treasure Department commitee. Maybe they have all their money tied up on Wall Street.
TopHat, the fact that the GB completely ignore the "annointed" speaks volumes about the org it shows that it is being run bu bunch of power lusting power tripping wolves.
Obviously there is more wisdom in pooling ideas from thousands of, as they believe, annointed rather than just 10 or 20.
Going back to the roots Russell was the first president and the only FDS because he had $350 000 to invest in the org that's about $5 million in today's dollars, and not because God chose him to be the FDS. It's all based on capital not Spirit. Today again in practice the FDS that dishes out food (poison) to the dubs is the GB. They control all the money.
Do you mean the other 8000 "Anointed" have absolutly NO SAY what so ever? Yet they are suppose to be the ones giving JWs or Great Crowd their spiritually food? What a SCAM the GB is perpretrating.
TopHat, as Blondie also mentions and she is better acquainted with the workings of the GB, only the GB at HQ and perhaps at most some outside annointed that are well known to them dish out "food" for the naive masses of the dubs. The rest were brashed aside for a frustrating marginal existence though the old boys' inspiration has dried up after Franz and they have nothing original to offer, they just re heat his food.
....It's recycled information they use
How true, I haven't been reading wt stuff much lately, but when I have I got the feeling that I'd read it all before.....many times
It doesn't really matter what happens to the magazines. They cost, probably, 2 cents each to print. Just the "Publishers" buying them at the literature counter is a multi hundred percent increase in profit over cost. The tower makes plenty money, whether the mags go in the trash or not.

Even the WTS itself admits that not every member of the GB even theoretically has input into the publications. The GB are divided up into committees, the Writing Committee having oversight of the publication content. Several GB members, mentally no longer have the capacity anyway assuming they were Bible scholars to start with.
Some male anointed outside the GB live right there at Bethel and could have some input as did David Splane, GB member since 2000.
But if you were to ask any individual member of the GB today if they are receiving independent direction or insight through the holy spirit, I think you would be surprised that they would deny that. All the ones I have asked have. They view it as a group effort (spreads the blame around).
The WTS has even admitted that the great crowd receive or have as much holy spirit as the anointed.

A graduate of the 42nd class of Gilead, he served as a missionary in Senegal, Africa, then for 19 years in the circuit work in Canada. He and his wife, Linda, have been at Bethel in the United States since 1990, where Brother Splane has worked in the Service and Writing departments. Since 1998, he had been a helper to the Writing Committee.

The Personnel Committee deals with personnel matters, including the interests of all who serve in the worldwide Bethel family. The Publishing Committee handles all secular and legal matters, such as property and printing. The Service Committee concerns itself with the witness work and supervises traveling overseers, pioneers, and the activities of congregation publishers. The Teaching Committee is responsible for congregation meetings, special assembly days, circuit assemblies, and district and international conventions as well as the various schools for the spiritual education of God’s people. The Writing Committee supervises the preparation and translation of publications in all forms, making sure that everything is in line with the Scriptures. The Chairman’s Committee cares for emergencies and other urgent matters. Also in the 1970’s, branch offices of the Watch Tower Society began to be directed by a committee instead of an overseer.

w96 6/15 p. 31 Questions From ReadersCan we say that God’s servants today who have the earthly hope have as much of God’s spirit as do spirit-anointed Christians?
This question is not a new one. This same matter was addressed in "Questions From Readers" in The Watchtower of April 15, 1952. Many have become Witnesses since then, so we can consider the question and in the process review what that earlier material said.
Fundamentally, the answer is, yes, faithful brothers and sisters of the other sheep class can share equally with anointed ones in receiving God’s holy spirit.—John 10:16...
Members of the "other sheep," though not having had the experience of being anointed, in other respects do receive holy spirit. The Watchtower of April 15, 1952, observed:
"The ‘other sheep’ today perform the same preaching work as the remnant, under the same trying conditions, and manifest the same faithfulness and integrity. They feed at the same spiritual table, eating the same food, absorbing the same truths. Being of the earthly class, with earthly hopes and a keen interest in earthly things, they might interest themselves more in scriptures relating to earthly conditions in the new world; whereas the anointed remnant, with heavenly hopes and strong personal interest in the things of the spirit, might study more diligently those things in God’s Word. . . . Yet the fact remains that the same truths and the same understanding are available to both classes, and it is just how the individuals apply themselves in study that determines the comprehension of heavenly and earthly things they acquire. The Lord’s spirit is available in equal portions to both classes, and knowledge and understanding are offered equally to both, with equal opportunities for absorbing it."Blondie (not too shy to ask GB members the hard questions)
