What you guys are saying is that because more people have access to the internet, the WTS fears dredging up highly disputed topics might see them lose the debate this time round? They fear their doctrines may not be so easily sold to this generation of people?

They're only (re)publishing elementary crap as a way of lulling "the nations" into an unguarded posture, and then -WHAMMO, BABY! - they'll hit them with an incredibly harsh resolution just microseconds before the windstorm of Armageddon is released.

I think it is funny - literally funny - that the mighty soldiers of Jah who run the WTB&TS find themselves betrayed by their god to the ravages of time and human frailty. As their personal ends draw near, they are afflicted with blindness, deafness, dementia and incontinence. I take as much glee from their situation as they take from their fantasies of their vindicating War-God. They hate the world and the world hates them right back.
Another possibility or other possibilities?
Growth in most of the world has slowed to a snail's pace and even there the snail might win. Is it even remorely pssible they think their truth ™ is too hard for people to understand so are busy making it even simpler? (Lordy could they be so dumb?!!?)
With the changing focus on many third world countries are they making it simpler for people in those countries to understand?
With so many of their young ones bolting as soon as they are at an age to get out do they think the younger ones need something simpler. Maybe this is their idea of education for younger people to keep them in the WTS's net of truth ™ rather than having them go on the net to find the real truth
Less content means less backpeddling. As long as they stick to fuzzy lions and lambs on people's front lawns and keep their mouths shut about anything else there will be no need for further new light™, which has exposed them as liars many times.

Does anyone know someone at WTS Hdqs. in NY who might know the answer to this question and be willing to give it?
I perceive the current WT literature as bland and usually uninteresting. Could this be because that is the case or because everything they publish is read with me questioning their motives?
new books and new magazines are a scam. they don't offer any new information. scam scam scam. money money money.
I think that the theories about outside research are probrably closest to the truth but I think it's a two part problem!
1) ol freddy used to just make this crap up as he went along so no one at bethel was really required to try to think anything up therefore coming into spiritual danger by using their brains! Now that he's gone any effort to have depth or new light would require SOMEONE at bethel to actually THINK about things if that person does then they put themselves into spiritual danger! Much better to just rehash the old sewage!
2) The old material that was "deep" and required research was released with the knowledge that only a very very very small percentage of people was actually going to go to the library and look this stuff up on paper! Therefore they could (and did) say pretty much whatever the f*ck they wanted! Now it's so easy to simply google a reference or topic that is sort of "out there" so they are much more reluctant to do something like that now!

The old material that was "deep" and required research was released with the knowledge that only a very very very small percentage of people was actually going to go to the library and look this stuff up on paper! Therefore they could (and did) say pretty much whatever the f*ck they wanted!; Now it's so easy to simply google a reference or topic that is sort of "out there" so they are much more reluctant to do something like that now!
Another aspect might be the need to make sure no one can bring a court case against them. If things need to go through the lawyers they might have a little problem with some of their bashing that they do
Sometimes, the more I read on this site the more worried I get. Finally-Free, you are probably closest to the truth; however...
I'm not sure that we really appreciate how dumb this world has become. Don't forget, folks, we live in the world of sound-bites and USA Today, where hours upon hours of air time is given to stories about missing white women in Aruba, while such trivialities as the Anarctic Ice Shelf melting, or the US Government has continually used trumped up intelligence (translate: lies) to cause the deaths of thousands of human beings (Iraq makes what, the third time in 40 years) gets barely mentioned. Of course the Borg is dumbing down the pubs, I mean, how do you reasonably discuss something as complex, as subjective, as deep as God and spirituality with someone whos greatest desire in life is to have his pants hanging farther down his ass than everybody else, someone whos greatest accomplishment in reading is the drive-thru menu at Taco Bell, and/or who is truely and absolutely confused as to why that "muffuck Moses used flaming shrubbery to talk to God? Why dint the niggah just call him on his cell phone? Be-ATCH." I suspect that soon, the pubs will be replaced with hand puppets and crayons. The Borg may be many things, but ignorant isn't one of them. Doubtlessly, being the ever vigilant salesmen they are, they are simply trying to match their product to the market.
Now, justifiably (and maybe, Inquisitor, this is what you question) it could be asked that if what the Borg has is the truth they claim it to be, why do they need to water it down? After all, the sheep will hear his voice and follow, yes?
