DefD is missed partially because there are those that like him personally. But a larger portion of posters -- I would bet -- are just curious. Seeing Derrick posting here is like seeing a Jew that likes to kick back with a bloody porkchop and discuss everyone's plans next sunday to remodel their house. He's just such an oddity, morbid curiosity drives people to see what he's saying even if they don't care about him personally.
(For the record, I like the guy and do care about him personally. [But I care about Vitty more. Sorry Derrick, but Vitty wouldn't ignore me if I visited her church, and you would.])
