It would be really cool if we could have a website that was geared toward the activist XJW. Not necessarily a discussion board type, but one that was a clearing house for all things JW. Especially have links to Attorneys, Known XJW media personnel, links to Senators and other lawmakers. A place where we could all go and connect with various outlets to help us anti-witness. Letter writing campaigns, picketing tips, etc etc etc.

I wish we there was an XJW who has major news connections, or one that was high up in the government. Well anyway this is my wish list for this Christmas.

what purpose would that serve? if you aren't part of the religion, why not just go about your daily life? why do you feel it necessary to go and picket or have politicians in your pocket or other such nonsense? if you're not prepared to picket against Jews, Muslims, Catholics, Hindus, etc., then don't go picketing against anyone else either. live your life as you see fit, and let others do the same with their lives.

    nobodyyouknow,
Im not sure if you are a JW or an XJW. Picketing is in a JW's blood. After a life of going doorknowing telling everyone else that they are wrong it is hard to break the habit. A JW's life revolves around picketing Jews, Muslims, Christians and Eastern religions. The Watchtower has devoted itself to showing everyone they are unacceptable to God. I guess that bad habit stays because it is very hard once you realise how totally wrong JWs are not to want to preach back.
As far as having politicians in your pocket, haven't JW's prided themselves on using the political and legal systems to allow freedom for themselves. Again, to want to use the same system to right JW wrongs is learnt behaviour.

I think it is a great idea. I am still tettering on the edge of being Disfellowshipped and would love to get some legal advice. The thought of being d/f is destroying my family emotionally. For their sake i would like to stop the process. I am thinking of telling each elder on my case that I will personally sue each one of them if my name is announced from the platform (hopefully as a means of stopping them going further with the case). I think that may be more effective than sueing the WTS as i could never afford to go up against a billion dollar org. I would like to know if there are any lawyers in my area that could give me advice.

That would be good, a big step in the right direction, because it represents organising opposition to the cult at a higher and more effective level. Cults have too much freedom in many countries eg they set up kangaroo religious courts to judge people without any records taken or representation for the accused.

    LOL.

When you step into a trap, and you manage to get yourself out, you tend to want to warn other people about it. If you're normal, that is.

HA, every ageing, large organization has to deal with an activist contingent opposed to their excesses. Why should the WTBTS be exempt? Good idea. There could be hints and tips on how to write effective writing campaigns. And effective letters. There are ways to write to our officials, and ways NOT to. I know, I've read many of them. Also, what is newsworthy, and how to write an effective news release.

Shunned Father, though rather obsessive in his personal campaign, has learned some hard-won lessons. Like, the larger the protest group, the greater the media coverage. Will it be published locally, statewide, nationally, or internationally? It would be great if someone could pick his brain for what he has learned. We could learn something from our new-age friends who have learned that Creative Protesting (clowns and costumes) get more media attention than lawn chairs and handpainted signs. The stuffed lambs, creative and memorable, come to mind.

So tell me, where were you when Jehovah's Witnesses were picketing other Christian churches and carrying signs that said, "Religion's a Snare and a racket"?

Somehow my Spider-sense is telling me that this is a post by a current JW (not that it really matters). It does seem to follow the usual party line, which dictates that, although JW's make a career out of attacking everyone else, one who leaves "the religion" (which is how I'd expect a JW who doesn't want to be identified as a JW to refer to it) is supposed to go away quietly. Suddenly, when the attack can be leveled against the WTS, the philosophy becomes all "live and let live".
