Watchtower or Awake ??

Some JW's came to our home yesterday and my hubby got out of a bath to answer the door. They left him a magiazine, not sure what it is. It did not have Awake or Watchtower on it. It does seeem to me that a few months or so back they made some changes, but i have been away from this board for some time , so I don't know a thing.

Have they done away with the Awake? It had no dates inside at all that I could find, and no song numbers or study lessons, (well it did have a couple articles with study questions but the format is very different) .

What have they gone and done? Is this the Watchtower or Awake or what? The magazine had an older man on it and is entitled " Keep on the watch".

Sounds like some sort of special brochure they're pushing. The Watchtower and Awake are still printed as far as I know..

"Keep on the Watch" is the title of a brochure that came out in 2004. Just like "What Does God Require of US" and other brochures.

The JW who left it there was probably quite happy. Having a "brochure placement" on his monthly report carries more cache than just a "magazine" placement.

The Watchtower and Awake are still going strong, althought he Awake goes to monthly (instead of twice amonth) next year.

You can look forward to more "return visits" (even more cache on the month-end report for the JW).

yes, "keep on the watch"* is a very timely brochure for all to enjoy. this old system is on its way out and this brochure can help young and old, black and white avoid the way this system is going: destruction. it is a special privilege to be involved in distributing this brochure, because of the implications of its message. it's a who's who of doom-meets-joy and it's for everyone to read and not die or die, your choice. God bless this stupid brochure. thank you

I'm not a JW, but i've read a fair amount of JW stuff... but never an awake or watchtower. Are these available online? Is it possible to get copies without having to deal with JWs in person?

Why don't they just print ," without this timely publication you are doomed ." ? I haven't seen it either . I think they actually have the 2 horned printing press now .....LOL It can never run out of paper and if it does, will go on a killing spree .......

I would love it if just once a JW went to someone's door and spoke the truth up front. Hi, my name is So&so and I am a Jehovah's Witness and we want you to join our religion. If you do join you have to tell all your friends and family that do not want to become JW's to p*** off and not associate with you. We also feel that if you do not do exactly as our religious leaders say, you will die. If you question any of their constantly changing prophecies, you will die. If you see them change their minds too often and it confuses you and you ask about it, you will die. If you attempt to read anything having to do with god that is not written by the Jw leaders, you will die. If you join our religion and bring your family along with you and one day your son or daughter does not want to stay a JW you have to turn your back on them and act as if they are dead. I'll give you a free sample magazine!!! This would be honest, this would be the truth up front and personal. Instead they use the same selling technique as a drug dealer. Give you a little taste of something that distorts reality and they have you hooked. They get you in your gang and get you hooked on spiritual crack and make you dependent on their supply of poison. If you choose to leave the gang you are dead to all the other gang members. That is the truth! If you don't see it then you are like the person who sees the duck and thinks it's a Kangaroo
If you believed Watchtower theology you would believe that God accepts you only if you do works for him. On this basis you can never know if God will accept you. No wonder that dubs are never sure of their salvation. What a terrible plight they are in, not knowing where they stand with God, never knowing if they're good enough, constantly feeling guilty. ::

They aint got the balls to go there.
