"Why would you leave the Witnesses, and Christianity, and then celebrate a holiday that is so Christian in nature and tradition"

Typical. She spent years trying to convince you that Christmas is Pagan. Now she is trying to convince you it's Christian. I learned the word Pagan was used in New Testament times to describe anything non-Xian. Pagan does not necessarily mean devil worship as the JWs would like us to believe.

A holiday is a cultural tradition. To some, it's a religious occassion. To me, it's not. Being a cultural tradition I can choose to celebrate it (or not celebrate it) to whatever extent I wish. I use holidays as a special day to celebrate the positive things about my life, to take time to be with my loved ones, etc. If others choose to add religion to their practices, that is fine and has no impact on me whatsoever.

So yes, I celebrate XMas in a non-religious way.

There's a chance I might not be a theist and I celebrate Christmas. I enjoy it! My Christmas is totally a secular Christmas.

I'm agnostic and celebrate Christmas. It's just a good time with the family.

I have a feeling we will celebrate it but it will just be a great time for families to get together.

There won't be any nativity scenes! LOL

I love christmas as I gives me a chance to feel like I belong to a family. I could care less about it's christian/pagan roots. For me it's about the chance to catch up with friends and relax for a few days.

    Same here.

I enjoy the fun of the holiday even though I am in no way Christian.

I don't celebrate it. What i like is all the lights and the snow. After dark, i sometimes go looking for a street that is loaded w lights of different colors. I will just stand there and enjoy them. I also like live choirs singing the carols. It's especially good in a large stone church w stained glass windows and multicolor painted cielings after i have smoked a dube. Heaven on earth.

Well, considering that Christmas began as a pagan holiday and was hijacked by Christians in order to make converts... I have absolutely no problem celebrating the Solstice holidays.

I REALLY like rum and eggnog. I'm hardcore agnostic and I still celebrate x-mas. I like the lights, time off work, day's devoted to nothing but smoking dope and watching old movies, pressies, family.. ahhh.
