I actually went to the Phoenix location when I was a kid and remember the Tucson school being closed down. I think the Phoenix school used to support the smaller Tucson school and at some point they could no longer do that (its popularity was declining). I was like 6 at the time so take that for what its worth.
The problem kids thing was true for sure btw.
How many on here went to NWEC Phx?
There was one (might still be there) in Queens NY on Farmers Blvd.
My sisters in law went there as children and I knew the elder who owned the school.
He did quite well financially.
I know it's the thing to trash JWs here, but honestly at the school I taught at, things were not all nazi- like. Maybe cause it was the first year and things were so fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants. The kids were from all over, some troubled, some from just regular witness families, all ethnic backrounds. We actually had a lot of fun (at least in my classes!) Wrote a play and performed it in costume, had a water gun (yes GUN!) fight the last day of school...I guess the time I was with the witnesses, there were a lot of really balanced (for JWs) people. Just regular people trying to get along and do right. They were all trying to deal with everything just like I was, and nobody really was on anyone's case...I am sure there were individual events I knew nothing of, but by and large I guess I was really fortunate when I read some of you-alls experiences.Of course I never bucked the system, til I left that is, so I am sure that made it easier.
Oh, the school was at an old school site (might have been school for the blind ironically enough), set up really nicely around a grassy middle common area.We had some teachers with degrees and some without.
I went to a witness school located in Santa Ana CA from 1975 to about 1981. It was located behind a Mitchell bros (porno) theater. lmbo
I hated it there so my momther asked if I wanted to go to public school and I jumped at the chance.
It was also Called New world educational center Principle Dan Williams and vice principle Jan Lynn.
Anybody else go there?
Does anyone know if the AZ and CA "new world educational center" were somehow related business wise?
