Not really, only in as much if someone came up to me looking for help, wanting my services; however, I have seen unabashed marketing going on amoung others that made me sick. For the most part I preferred not to do too much because I didn't want to have anything to do with business create a problem within the congregation.

I NEVER did...but watched all the janitors that wanted to be rich somebody's shamelessly pursue any and all...

It made me sick.

No I never have.

Since a group of people that I was very close to embezzeled money from many poor dubs, I stay away from dubs and business.

I did the opposite. Worked for many dubs who almost always tried to get something for nothing and acted like they deserved it. Bent over backwards and usually barely broke even. I even had a few who ran up a huge bill and skipped out on it. Decided in the end that witnesses were the worst customers in the world.

On the other hand, I do know several people who have made a fortune off the witnesses. They somehow figured out how to use witnesses faults against them, networked, and aggressively went after witness business. More power to them, I guess, but I don't know how their nerves handle the mix of business and hall politics.

I completely agree. My husband owns his own business, and the people who absolutely are the worst customers are the JWs. I can't even tell you how many of them do not pay their bills. Even people in his bookstudy!!!! It's unreal - and they have no shame, either. Either they have every excuse in the book, or they ignore the bill completely.

If it wasn't for the fact that 'worldly' people praise his work up one side and down the other, I would begin to wonder......

Dubs make excellent Multi-Level-Marketers!

My hometown had the top sales in a MLM that was health related. 95% of the group were witnesses and they did well. The catch to this buisness is to talk to everyone you can think of. Since dubs mostly talk to each other, and since most dubs are looking for a quick and easy way to make dough, they are suckers for MLM.

Me, I was in ( still am) in the floorcovering buisness and when dubs needed flooring they'd call Gumby. I didn't need to use them for work as I was always busy anyway and their jobs were usually side jobs for extra spending cash and I had to do them on the weekends.......so I didn't depend on them for work.

As a side point....I can see where many could make a killing though church connections. They know you and trust you more than a store or buisness their not too familiar with.
