I've heard of the wife swapping going on at Kingdom Halls from a few active Jehovah's Witnesses.

I remember hearing about the wife swapping parties in a nearby congregation....they'd throw their keys in a bowl, and whosever keys they pulled out, they went home with the wife of the car owner....and there was a certain elder in my old KH who was getting it on with another brother's wife, (much younger than he was) for over two years, before they were finally caught and both DF'd. At the same time, there was another elder, in the same congregation, who was running around with a couple of young married sisters, at the same time....nothing ever really came of that one though. He lied and got away with it.Yeah, crap happens.....elders are not above sinning.....

I remember a Ministerial Servant, brother K, 38 years old who was discovered to be f****ing little sister R, 15 years old. He got a public reproof but the girl's mother was livid! It was in the early 80's, and nobody thought of reporting it, she was a tall girl for her age and was just seen as "precocious." Then, sister J, mother of 5, ran away to a nearby town with elder H. and they got an apartment. They were so unrepentant about it! After just a short time, brother J. invited sister H. for a dinner date. She blushingly approached the elders asking, "Would it not be appropriate for J. and I to date each other, since the our spouses are together?" She was so naive, for a woman in her early 50's, seemed to feel almost obligated to hook up with brother J, guilty because her husband had taken his wife. Then there was elder M, whose wife simply did not have sex. Period. In his "weakness" he "fell into sin" with the wife of a man he studied with. He got disfellowshipped since he was such a prominent elder in the circuit, sat in the back and was sometimes in tears. He was reinstated in about a year. That was sad, the kindest man, just so terribly neglected at home. That lonely man got harsher punishment than the pedophile Ministerial Servant!

horrible life
My older brother, regular pioneer at age 18, and 2 older married, regular pioneers, each about 35 years old. Both the women were having affairs with him, and then they started fighting over him. One of them won!! All disfellowshipped, my brother and one of them got married, had baby, he divorced her and has been married 4 times.
The other regular pioneer stayed with her elder husband, moved to the country, (next door to my parents) Her husband got a brain tumor a year later, she found another boyfriend, and they both took care of him, till he died. The borrow eggs and such on a regular basis from my parents.
This is the brother of mine, that I like, and disappears for months to years at a time. Gone now HL

Enigma One
HL...does he have drug problems?
I went to KH where the neighboring KH had a whole bunch of wife swapping going on. A couple of the couples ended up switching wives full time. So there were brothers and sisters that were 1/2 and 1/2 and 1/2 and 1/2. So confusing! -
horrible life
Enigma, I'm not around him that much. But... He had a bad wreck 25 or so years ago. taking alot of pain pills. I know he smoked pot, I went to visit a couple of times, and he offered me some, but I told him I was driving back to motel. Have never seen him "out of it", but I would probably put money that he does have a problem.
Do you think this is why he disappears? He just doesn't fit the "junkie" profile that we all have heard of. HL

Enigma One
Usually.
I had a roomate that would disappear for a few days or up to a week. Then show up looking like shit and sleep for 3 days. Literally. He'd sleep 36 hours...get up a few times to go to the bathroom and maybe eat a sandwich. He'd binge on drugs...stay up 5 or 6 solid days with no sleep.
Also...have seen people go off on drug binges for 6 months or more. They'd clean themselves up for a couple of years to save up enough money to go on a drug binge for a few months. Very, very weird.
My drug of choice is endorphins. -

My drug of choice is jalapenos and habeneros. TRUE When I feel down, or need a pick me up, I eat something really hot. I read not to long ago, that they do release endorphins, or your body does, in response to the heat. Have you ever heard of this? I love hot! HL

Lots of foods do this. Spicy foods. Chocolate. Coffee.

But peppers don't have many calories, and can't stand coffee. Is the coffee because of the caffine?
