Many have pondered the question…
"Does the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society read what they themselves have labeled "apostate", whether it be books, or web sites?"
The answer to this question could be verified by a future "whistleblower", who perhaps worked in the Watchtower's basement, but there is already enough proof for a definitive answer.
We will examine the question regarding the Watchtower's "surfing habits" by means of proof as found in the Awake of August 8, 2001. This article is currently being "placed" (sold) from door to door this month. I know, I 'sold' some.
On page 7 we find these paragraphs beneath a picture of a miserable looking guy surfing the iNet in ramshackle surroundings… (the Watchtower's basement no doubt)
When teens surf the Net for music, they can happen upon links to sites for downloading hate music. Such music is usually loud and violent, with lyrics expressing strong racist messages. These Web sites, in turn, provide links to newsgroups, chat rooms, or other Web sites that promote hate. Some hate Web sites offer special sections containing games and activities for young people. One neo-Nazi Web site attempts to use the Bible to justify racism and anti-Semitism. The group has also created a page that offers crossword puzzles with racist comments. It's purpose? "To help the young members of the white race understand our fight".
Now the questions is raised, How did the Watchtower get this information, and with such precision?
Some hate Web sites… seems the Watchtower has examined more than one.
One neo-Nazi Web site attempts to use the Bible… OH, I guess they visited this one as part of their Bible study.
The group has also created a page that offers… and they examine ALL the pages, to make absolutely sure that it's 'bad'. I wonder if this is where the Watchtower got the idea to put crossword puzzles in the AWAKE?
It's purpose?… and they just gotta make sure they read the whole PURPOSE so as to get it all clear in mind.
Seems to me, the only REAL question is "Did the Watchtower's surfin boyz click on VISIT THE SPONSOR?
Now, if the Watchtower can visit "Hate Groups" and drink up their Web sites, -sites which have nothing to say about the Watchtower- then what about the proliferating number of sites that call the Watchtower and her illustrious leaders MAD, and have so very much to say about the "Mother Organization"? … Sites which use their copyrighted material?
I don't think the jury needs to stay out for long, …do you?
Add to this, the numerous Watchtower attempts made to take legal action against those who have put up material like the "Pay Attention" book, or others. How does the WTBTS know what is on the iNet, … Hmmmm?
Nuff said!
As far as "apostate" books are concerned, there has already been posts made by many that testify to the fact that there is a copy of Crisis of Conscience in the library at New York headquarters, right beside Apocalypse delayed and the others.
I don't know where to get the link, (I am sure it's on my hard drive) but there is a old letter by one of the authors of either Apocalypse Delayed or The Gentile Times Re-considered, and it's addressed to Milton Hensmell. The letter "calls him out" and basically says that he's a liar, and the writer makes reference to court documents. Apparently, the WTBTS attempted to take legal action against the author in court, thus PROVING that they have it and read it.
Perhaps others have more, but I am confident that this puts the question to bed.
I wonder though, who does the surfing? I mean, eventually, the "brothers" chosen to work for the "Apostate Literature Reading Dept." must eventually get their "fill" of information, and then what? Quit?
