My Df'ed Dad said "sure" but my mom said no "we'll have to pass."

First she said: "Thursday, isn't that Thanksgiving Day?"

I said yes, does it matter? HA HA.. I'm so dumb sometimes. But, in my defense I'll say this...

If it wasn't for her fear of my ritchie righteous brother she would come without hesitation.

After all, she goes to casinos and buys lottery tickets and keeps it on the down low so my holy brother won't find out.

So, now my mom knows I'm going to celebrate Thanksgiving. I really don't care though. I was just surprised she turned down my invitation.

I know I shouldn't be but I really thought she would come and try and keep it from my brother.

Maybe I should have said we are going for turkey at the Casino on Thursday. Do you want to come with us? LOL

It's so odd. In our area, no one really had a problem with Thanksgiving. We've had a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving every year for as far back as I can remember. We just didn't decorate.

I confess to the sin of eating on Thanksgiving day:-)

Showing thanks for the devilish things of Satan's wicked system? Heathens!! You're to condemn all of humanity and any kind of celebration, especially those about being thankful!

When I was younger my family would go to relatives for Thanksgiving and not blink in eye. Now that my brother runs the family my mom acts like she never does anything against the org.

It really makes me mad that she is so fearful of my brother.

I'll bet he really gets off on the fear he instills too doesn't he?

There's no reason why she can't come as long as she makes a special effort to refrain from thanking God for anything. By abstaining from giving thanks to God she will prove herself to be "no part of the world", and won't be taking part in this heathen celebration.

Well. . . . isn't your father the "head of the household". . . and can't he MAKE her go? After all she is supposed to in "submission" to him (in order to win him without a word). That could give her a good excuse to use on your brother.

Grief your mother worries more about eating a meal with her daughter on Thanksgiving then going to the casino... Now theres logic for you!

All the more for you Sandy!

I never saw the point of that 'Theocratic rule'!

Shouldn't Christians be at the forefront of being thankful to God for His blessing?

What a mixed up bunch of people! And I was one of them. But we usually went to dinner on T-day somewhere anyway. I just never saw much wrong with it.

This Thursday we are doing one of our own. Still don't see anything wrong with it.

    Let's eat.

    Jeff
