Will Jehovah prevent men from going to Mars?

A few of the friends I have spoken to over the years seemed to think that Jehovah would never allow man to leave the planet and visit another.

"We have to get this planet right first", they said.

I thought at the time, perhaps the furthest man would be allowed to go would be the moon.

Recently, President Bush announced a new space initiative for NASA - first the moon by 2017, then mars by 2020-2030.

    What are your thoughts?

Will Jehovah prevent men from going to Mars?
Yes, of course. Just like He prevented them from going to the moon.

Good bloody luck. They will never be able to achieve their own self imposed standards

Why would jehovah bother. If he is looking for things to do poverty and famine are still on going and don't forget sickness.

The old dubs did not speculate about space travel...They knew it would never happen...cause the "Truth Shall Make You Free" (1943) told them that it could and would never happen.

Man on earth can no more get rid of these demonic "heavens" than man can by airplane or rockets or other means get up above the air envelope which is about our earthly globe and in which man breathes. God Man on earth can no more get rid of these demonic "heavens" than man can by airplane or rockets or other means get up above the air envelope which is about our earthly globe and in which man breathes.

Obviously the first manned mission to the moon was a hoax perpetrated by Satan's Agents, as is any sort of flight outside Earth's supportive atmosphere, just as the Faithful Slave has explained.

The invisible King of the Heavens would never let the sinful contagion called "man" corrupt the rest of creation. Pay no attention to the fact that Satan himself had absolute trans-galactic freedom of movement prior to 1914; it will only make your head hurt.

Many JWs love Sci Fi, go to all the new Star Wars movies and some have even dressed up for such in costume.

Jehovah is invisible so why would he care which planet man travels to.

JWs who believe that Jehovah would not permit it are no different the religious people who lived during the days of Christopher Columbus.

By the way, I personally think going to Mars will cost the US tax payer way more than the few benefits they may get from it. But hey, why should I care, going to Mars is much more important than funding Social Security or helping senior's with the cost of medicine or helping with such trivial things like making sure the poor have at least one meal a day.
