When you tell someone that you're an ex-Jehovah's Witness...

Why be embarrassed about giving a thorough witness.... just think of all the people you can help who otherwise may be inclined to listen to the WT lies and become involved with a dangerous cult.

I worked for four years at a software company and not one person ever knew I was a J-DUB.

Doesn't bother me...it was brought up in a conversation I had with a young co-worker today...truns out another employ is an ex-JW...I didn't know that...besides, it's not like I spent twenty-five years as an ax murder...one good thing about it is you get to say ex-JW and then give the reasons why...

    Hi,

I am not very good at speaking in public, prefer one to one.or a small group of people. However when I got baptised I gave my Testimony to around 150 people, some of these were chinese students who came up to me later and said how much it had helped them.Afterwards the church put on a wonderful buffet lunch.there were 6 of us baptised.

I have always been a private person never one to talk about my life.experiences.Now I tell everyone,I have a sticker on my window,NO JWS. I put this on there initially because I was not strong enough to cope with talking to the JWS when I left as I had visits and was getting confused again. One pioneer looking into my eyes to see if they had glazed over ,even commenting saying "well you look okay to me".

I was going to take the sticker down when I was stronger but have left it on as I have had so many opportunities to talk to others about the WT.my neighbor also asked for one, from that we then did a campaign giving out stickers in my town.I have spoken to people everywhere now Pubs,shopping.family/friends wherever it comes up.

Just take the control back but also realise that the JWS are deceived......People react differently, but when they see you still have love for the JWS they tend to listen more...and give yourself time ,baby steps.

with God all things are possible

Luke 18 :27.But he said "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God"

I feel embarrased but talk about it when I think it will be helpful in educating people to the ways of the WTS I have a friend who has been going with a man for about three months and she is terrified to tell him in case he thinks she is damaged goods or a freak. I have been coaching her on dropping it in casually one day like it is of little consequence but she can not pluck up the courage yet.

I have no problem telling people I am an XJW, that usually follows with why do they believe this and that, I explain and then say you know everytime I explain why they believe this or that, where was my brain? I feel a tinge of anger with myself for allowing myself to be non-thinking and brainwashed for 15 years. There might be a little embarrasment, but everyone makes mistakes, some become alcholics others drug addicts and some marry the wrong person, I belonged to a cult and didn't use my brain for 15 years. I think if I can share my story and save one other person from being sucked into that religion it will be worth my being a little ashamed of myself.
