I have a cockatiel, and it is true love. HL

Well, in January I bought a cockatoo, and decided to teach him how to talk. I started repeating to him, "W___'s handsome! W___'s handsome!" The bird immediately went into a fit of screaming and making a sound that could only be likened to hysterical, demonic laughter.

That's the closest thing I've had to a compliment in recent memory

    Mouthy,

You brought back some old memories. The ones of my parakeet. I just loved that little bird, but we also taught him to say "praise jehovah" and "read the watchtower". His death sickened me but with my situation now maybe it's a good thing he's gone as I would have a real hard time with him saying that now.

    That's so cute!

We had a cockatiel that flew in one day and adopted us a few years back... my daughter was in love with that bird. Strangest bird, it liked to hide behind the table at the entrance to our bedroom and then run out and bite us in the ankles when we walked by unsuspectingly. We had V-shaped bite marks all over our ankles... we finally took to running past that table, just in case, every time we wanted to go into the bedroom. Any casual observers must have thought we were crazy....

Anyway, this bird sang a few songs when he came to us: Happy Birthday To You (his favorite), and Jingle Bells. So we set about teaching him Kingdom Melodies . Every morning thereafter, we awoke to the chorus of song #4 (I think)...... When he flew away after about a year, my daughter was completely heartbroken. Whoever he has graced with his presence now, is listening to Kingdom Melodies......

Imagine!!! A cockatoo in a blue and gold's feathers.....hahahahaha....awesome pic!!! I too, have owned many a bird, but my favorite, by far, was my African Grey....he could talk up a storm, and sing and whistle...but I was smart....never read the bible to him, or sang the kingdumb melodies to him....

Hahaha! That's funny! I wonder how they'd get him into a suit like that and still keep their fingers intact! My ex once got a flight suit for her cockatiel, and once she got it on him the poor guy looked so depressed she got rid of the suit.

Maybe next year I should dress Rocco up for Halloween. Here's an interesting site:

Maybe I can get him a hat like this:
