Even jesus himself could not persuade some people. Pharisees were one such bunch. Proud and haughty and in a comfort zone they wouldn't trade for the world. There's none so blind as those that will not see. .....how true how true.

So true, Gumby. This haughtiness of which you speak is one of the issues that started us thinking out of the witchtower box a few years back, before we faded. I noticed that the local 'preachers' were far more loving and kind than those in the congo who had been 'appointed by Watchtower holy spirit.'. It started the treck out for us. This guy was a humble elder who 'stepped down' due to seeing that same thing. I thought maybe I could reach him. Who knows.

I have a close friend from childhood, and we still keep in contact even though I'm fading. ; I dont want to think about what it would be like to lose his friendship....Im truly sorry.

Cori - I hope you can hold on to his friendship - but don't be surprized if someone gets him to move away from you eventually. Some though are truly friends, sometimes we get lucky. Thanx for the kind thoughts

Pretty darn good. And I am usually all over people about the length. But this is about right. It is a poignant goodbye letter, not preachy, leaving the door open.

I've never been a dub, but THAT is one fabulous response.... the perfect tone.

    Thanx DE and jgnat.

I worked on the length for a while. I have had one after another of my friends finally call me evil and cut me off. Usually they just never respond to me. This was an 'opening' I decided to take. Previous emails were about the UN deal and he clearly would not have read anything directed as an attack. I hope he read this at least.
