The eye of God

One of dedpoet's friends just sent him this. He (dp's friend) reckons it's the "eye of God", though we both have our doubts, to say the least. Any ideas?

I doubt very much thats its the eye of god, but its cool anyway whatever it is.

It looks like an exploded star a supernova, only the naive and the ignorant can perceive it as being the eye of God. I think the colours are artificially added by astronomers.

We are both somewhat sceptical, to say the least, but dedpoet's friend seemed almost convinced, unlee he is taking the p**s of course. I think it's just a clever piece of trick photography.

This must be a one-eyed "cyclops" type of god. The nose and the mouth are missing! Oh my God. I mean, oh someone else's God!
