World War I did not start during the last days

  Jehovah's Witnesses place great emphasis on World War I proving that the last days started in 1914. What few realise is that World War One started prior to the start of the last days. The war started in Aug whereas the WTS claims the last days started on October 2 1914. This means that WWI started during the Gentile times and as such can not be claimed to be an indication of the last days.

  I asked my Pioneer School conductor about this and he claimed that Satan started WWI in August as a smokescreen to divert peoples attention from Jesus rulership talking place shortly afterwards. This is an unsubstantiated excuse. Satan was supposedly busy warring with Jesus at the time, not having time to make smokescreens. Anyway, what was there to smokescreen, there is no indication to humans that Jesus is ruling for Satan to need to try to hid us from.

  With much of the backward, antiquated reasoning that much of the world was under; secular, psychological, religious and otherwise, it's a wonder anyone had any clear vision on anything during those days. It could be likened to living in the dark ages, as a matter of fact, we are not far from having been removed from the dark ages of even our times. We have come quite a ways, we, however, are so far behind the times that it's frightening as to how obsolete our understanding is, as we speak.

  Your post raises many questions. Where we ever up with the times? Will we ever get there? How will we know that we are no longer in the dark ages, behind the times, enlightened?

  I think your instructor is absolutely right. I mean who today other than those clever JW's knows that the last days started in 1914. Certainly not your typical worldling. Obviously Satan is a master of the smokescreen.

  Were we ever up with the times? Will we ever get there? How will we know that we are no longer in the dark ages, behind the times, enlightened?

  I would imagine that it's left only to those who are to come after us, who can really say that we as generation had the right ideas. I imagine we will always be evolving as technology constantly turns a new corner everyday, as man is enlightened slowly over time.

  Who would have ever thought we as a world would be able to communicate as we do over the internet now? Medical, think about it. The X-Ray has been superceded by the MRI. Who here remembers when there was no such thing as a Barcode Scanning system and you would have your purchase of products rung up manually by hand from the person at the cash register? ATM Machines? Who would've ever thought? Instant money!!!

  Technolgy seems to prove to us on an almost daily basis, just how behind the times we really are, and before you know it, that technology has quickly come to be obsolete as well.

  Your pioneer school instructor is using the watchtower pat answer, let's blame in on Satan when they don't have a logical answer to their time-line statements. This is not the only religion that plays the same blame Satan game and he's always the right answer for a no answer situation. Prime examples: 587 date for destruction of Jerusalem by historians-Satan smoke-screen; Wooly mamaoths with spearheads in them dating back over 10,000 years when man was created 6000 years ago-Satan smoke screeen; the early Egyptian empire dating its start 3100 B.C., 500 or more years before the flood=Satan smoke screen: pine trees in Cal. and Nev. that are 4800 years old, 300 years older than the flood-Satans smoke screen; Herod who sought to kill the baby Jesus, historians record his death in 4 B.C., 2 years prior the birth of Jesus in 2 B.C.according to the Watchtower theology-satan smoke-screen. The Mormons are playing the same Satan smoke screen theory with the DNA of the American Indian proving no semitic blood lines thereby invalidating the Book of Mormom. If we believe all these things are some screens by Satan then we must be smoking some pretty good stuff and blowing a lot of smoke ourselves.

  As I was reading your comment there was a banner of Satan at the bottom of my screen. Yes, between smoking Satan and all the other difficult things being a Sacred Secret a religion can make up any baloney it wants.

  Prophecor, you look pretty hot for a guy!

  Not only are we advancing technologically, we also are advancing in our understanding of basic human riots. Though there are still many horrific violations at least many societies now has clearly defined rules in regards to women, child, war crimes etc. I also believe that though many people are moving away from religion there are many people that are more spiritual as a result, due to relying of finding spirituality rather than blindly following the rules of men.

  Talk about quantum rerasoning. Wasn't the war the main sign of jesus' rulership starting? If it was a sign, how could it be a smokescreen to itself? Ow, my head hurts.

  I also believe that though many people are moving away from religion there are many people that are more spiritual as a result, due to relying of finding spirituality rather than blindly following the rules of men.

  The society used to have a saying that reflected how the organisation would have a shifting or adjusting of direction, much the way a navigator has to guide and direct a ship to its destination. Tacking was how it was brought to me, a means of making subtle minor adjustments in course, a little to the left, a tad to the right, always being on course, but also requireing fine tunning.

  It seems as if there is a universal adjusting in the thinking of mankind as a whole. They're somehow finding thier way out of the muck and morass of antiquated thinking with regard to religion, science, politics. We are less inclined to dismiss what others have to bring to the table of thought and ideas. There are so many different paths, so many different roads that humanity has walked. The Buhhdist, Shinto, many of the Eastern Sciences of beliefs, we're all willing to pay attention to each other. The prejudice in many areas is disappearing, the quickness to regard things that are foreign to us as bad is begining to erode away, the fear of those who are different than you.

  There's an awakening, it seems, of a collective consciousness. Everyone appears to be awakening from some sort of psycological, spirtual uncosciousness, and its refreshing to see and hear. There are even those amongst Christendom who have been able to afford me a greater understanding about life and the social ills that are upon our society, what they mean and how they have impacted on my life. Christendom, who was supposed to be on the same page as the demons we were made to fear in the Kingdom Halls. I have gotten so much from them that it amazes me that I wasn't able to pay attention before.
