Thats the kind of attitude the bible says beware of. Would you like the exact scriptures?

If the bible wasn't written by a bunch of power-hungry Catholics looking for a way to exercise control, I might care what the bible says.

We, in my opinion, are here to LIVE life NOW. Not worry about the future..surely not a hedonistic life, but a life that can bring joy to ourselves, without oppressing others.

I think the greatest "sin" is to waste the life that we have now. I believe in life before death

Well said, Diamond 2. This is a great discussion

Mrs Ozzie and I prepared ourselves well ahead of our eventual exiting.

We met up with others to analyse Dub doctrines i.e. what we had been advocating all our lives, and then determined where our spirituality lay.

From that we were able to determine the falsehoods inherent in Dub teachings.

From there we spent a year, yes we took a year off! to read and read and read. We read commentaries, we read life stories, we read sermons, we read......oh we read lots!

At the end of that time we were clear in the broad framework of what we believed.

Since then we have continued to study and learn.

But after the year we felt the need to meet with others for worship and we sought out a church. We've attended many from all sorts of streams of christianity and have settled in a fellowship that we are helping to expand. It's growing well, amongst all age groups but especially young families. (Now doesn't that prove the lie to what the WT always told us?) This fellowship are a support to us as well as we being a support to them - we hope!

Unlike the Sunday meetings at the KH, we actually look forward to Sundays! We learn so much each week - nothing like those continualy rehashed Public Talks that were different only in how they were read!

LOL LOL ROFL LOL HA HA HA HA HA......ha ha.

Old man at thirty five. *sigh*

That restlessness you feel is a sign you are ready for growth. It is a mental kick in the butt to get moving, thinking, rebuilding your foundation. Find some interesting books and read them. Or do like Bhudda and sit under a tree for a few months. Or volunteer at a local homeless shelter, L'Arche community, soup kitchen, or senior's home.

    Gain a new perspective.

It's all just someones opinion. No one can prove any belief system. You must either make your own or copy someone else. Ever notice how many denominations there are? Religion usually developes from a society, race or location and family. Whatever makes you feel good. The most important thing is to provide for yourself and family, unless you like living under a bridge or in an alley. You will die sometime, so enjoy what time you have here each day if possible and you can hope for something in the afterlife if you wish. There are no real answers except those in someones mind, and that includes your own.

I think I enjoyed my life more when I didn't think about the future or death or religion.

Now that is a very good idea!Isnt it amazing how so many years as a Jw conditioned one NOT to volunteer or engage in charity work...the preaching was the ultimate charity they would say...what utter crap!Where was the charity box after last years tsunami?Hurricane Katrina?Earthquake in Pakistan? They say the "good news"is what those poor People want....it makes me want to pull my Hair out when i hear all that rubbish.

Thanks one and all for some brilliant advice.

That conditioning still sends shivers down my spine when i think of even entering another Church tho.....but im going to attend Midnight mass this year..just out of curiosity..and because i CAN.

Im gonna find me some spiritual literature to peek at over the Xmas Hols.

Sorry for going on and on.....
