Barbara is doing everything she can to ensure this news does maximun damage to the WTS. I'm very grateful to her and all who spend so much of their time exposing the org..
holding on for my hero, Barbara

There's a great story in the late Barbara Harrison Grizutti's book, Visions of Glory, about her days at Bethel before she left, quit and became a famous writer. If memory serves, the passage goes something like this:
When she decided to leave Bethel, the rule was she had to have an audience with Nathan Knorr, then president of the WTBTS. He said to her; 'You were a valedictorian, weren't you?" She said she was not. "No," he replied, "but you were smart." She acknowledged that she had gotten very good grades in high school. "It's always the smart ones who leave," Knorr said, as though that were a bad thing.
It's always nice to see the WTS gets some come-uppance at the hands of a smart woman.
Barbara, sit back for a while and relax. It is out of your hands for a while. It is a good thing you have started this thread. I have been waiting 37 years for something like this. Thirty years this fall is exactly half my life time. So many here, have picked up the baton and are running with it. If we have to wait a few days or even weeks, She'll be dere.
Willymon,
That was Knorr's policy. At the Gilead graduation, in 1960 he told the class about one of the stupidest students that came to Gilead. He didn't pass the grades. Because of his great attitude for the Trooth, he was sent to a South American easy assignment and brought umpteen hundreds into the truth.
One of the instructors, Redford, must have absorbed Knorr's philosophy to the n'th degree.
He told the class, A students crack up first.
One of the reasons being that they are sent to the toughest assignments that help the process along.

Yes, Rutherford knew she had had outstanding grades.... HOW?
He knew because as with William Schnell (who on exiting wrote Thirty Years A Watchtower Slave, an interesting expose), he had spies to hound after them both, then had the spy "reports" compiled and put into files in his office desk in Brooklyn.
For example Schnell says Rutherford took out a file and read a charge that a girl in a congregation had claimed that he had given her a real kiss.
And in Barb's case Rutherford sent spies after her when she was in South America, and after she came out of a Catholic church where she had been praying one demanded that she state that she was no longer a Jehovah's Witness - which she rightly ignored.
I am proud of this other Barbara as much as I was of the other Barbara who died a few years back in New York. We used to email.
Ms. Anderson, I don't know for sure what you are going to unfold, but anyone who helps the children and other innocents will always command my highest respect.
I say that whatever it is, all who read it or of it need to do more than usual to get the word into the mailboxes of those who are still enslaved in the kingdom halls.
Maybe it will wait for Christmas day and be a good christmas present for the WT.

Just read the news.....thanks so much Barbara !
Three Jumps for Barbara!
I concur!!! From the information available about Barbara I have concluded that she is a very sincere and honest christian. I applaud her boldness in standing up for what is right and just, eventhough it cost her her relationship with her son. I have not been able to acquire the fortitude to make my stand public yet. I have relatives who are currentlly serving in branches in other countries as well as parents who are VERY active, dad is PO, mom a regular pioneer for over 25 yrs etc...I too continue to serve as an elder eventhough at this point I have lost ALL faith in the validity of The Watchtower with it's numerous corporations, being The Way. I hope to soon, very soon be able to finally make my exit without regrets.
God bless you Barbara!!
