I addressed your issue in the last thread but let me add some additional comments. I live in the Heights in a building once owned by the society. It is a small building and not near the scale of the hotels and factorys owned by the society. When the society owned the building they paid zero real estate taxes. The bethelites who lived in the building contributed nothing or very little to the local economy. Currently our building pays about $150K per year in real estate taxes. As you can guess to live in this area all residents in the building have good jobs and pay significant state and local income taxes. In addition, we all contribute to the local economy by buying goods and services from local merchants.
Whle the society lives in the heights they have essential taken significant portions of the community away from the local economy. The fact that they have their own garbage trucks means nothing.
