What can I say? I wasnt there when my first announcement was made but I did hear rumours that I had disassociated myself too, even though I did most certainly not and neither did I even know what diassociation was when I was 16.

If they tried that now i would most certainly sue for slander - publically announcing to 100 people that you have said something when you haven't is a downright lie. I would then appeal for the elders involved in the announcement to be disfellowshipped for lying and produce as witnesses every1 who heard that announcement.

I guess the threat of being sued might of made them stop and think.

Especially if you mentioned they will PERSONALLY be named in the action.

Go ahead and draw up the paper work for a lawsuit against these two elders NOT the watchtower or the congregation against them PERSONALY! Should at least be a hoot and cost nothing to draw up the paperwork!

I called and spoke with the legal department in Patterson when they were saying they were going to disassociate my husband because he didn't want to speak to them.

I threatened with defamation of character, alienation of affection and going to the press and followed up with my Attorney's telephone number. I also told them never to come by our house not even in a year or two to update their records. I told them to go to city hall and check public records...if we don't live here they can come by...if they come by I would feed their balls to my dog Cleo.

So far no visits and no announcement of disassociation.

That has been my thought. I have planned to say something of this sort:

" If you make any kind of announcement about me I will view this as slander and a personal threat -- and I will personally sue the elders involved and charge them with emotional and mental abuse and family endangerment, as I will no longer be able to communicate with my JW sister after an announcement of this sort is made." (I will also tell them I have a hot shit lawyer cousin who would be happy to take the case)

Makes me mad to think that I would even need to say this sort of thing, but I don't feel like rolling over and letting them run over me either.

And I will also bring up the fact that I was baptized before the baptismal vows were changed in 1985, so I am no longer under the old contract. This may not get me anywhere, but it will get the elders to look up the information on the vows being changed and maybe it will make them think...

Wow did not know they changed the vows. I was baptized before 1985. I don"t think HE was baptized before 85 he would of been pretty young in 85.

    Thanks for that information.

What were the old vows and what are the new ones? Can someone enlighten me?

I'm pretty sure my husband was baptized before 1985.
