There is another court case out there I've been trying to find... it involves a JW who ignored a "no trespassing" sign and was knocked over by a goat or sheep while trying to sell place the watchtower literature at someone's house. When he fell he broke his leg and sued the home owner, the local congregation and the Watchtower Society. The Watchtower society was able to defend themselves and the local congregation by asserting that JWs are NOT required or compelled to do any form of house-to-house work and that he was not actually working for the local congregation and was acting on his own. The WTS and congregation were dropped from the lawsuit but the home owner ended up loosing his house after loosing the lawsuit.

If anyone can find this I would be greatly appreciate it.

Great site! Thanks for the link. I loved this Watchtower quote:

"Moral insanity, sexual perversions, repression, inferiority complexes, petty crimes...often follow in the wake of blood transfusion."
    --Watchtower, September 15, 1961, Page 564

Has anyone ever tried the "I just got a blood transfusion" defense after knocking over a liquor store? Worth a shot, eh?

Thanks for the laugh, Dave !

That's a keeper. I'll try that excuse next time I get into trouble. Ha, ha !!

    Hubert

Maybe I can sue the person that gave me blood, saying it's all his/her fault !!
