it was fun! the only thing that sucked about it was the fact that i had no idea how to wrap a gift... late 20's and i've never wrapped a present before???? hahaha ONLY IN THE JW FAITH IS THAT POSSIBLE!!!

I cheat and get Christmas bags and then staple the tops shut so there is no peeking

I just had a vision of a duct tape enshrouded box and had to laugh. :)

I understand...I had my first christmas a few years ago too...I had to ask a friend to teach me how to wrap a present...she looked at me like I was some kind of freak of nature. Which I am. I'm quite fond of the abstract wrapping...not exactly crisp and sure...and tape edges and cat fur everywhere...but it's what's inside that counts. :)

i have a couple years under my belt, but trust me, it doesn't get any easier. it's not like it's the kind of thing you practice throughout the year or anything (at least i don't...). my girlfriend and i have a TON of presents under our tree right now (we buy for her whole family and then bring the gifts to her parent's house christmas eve) and it's painfully obvious which ones i wrapped and which ones she did.

i just try to get at least one side and the top of the present looking presentable and then tape the crap out of the back.

oh, and i don't think not being able to wrap is an ex-JW thing, i think it's a guy thing, so no worries.

It's all in the pressing down hard on the crease so that it's a striaght line. Or gift bag, great idea. Actually my husband just said that thee other day, he's 32, that he has no idea how to wrap a gift. And he's never been a JW. So, it's not just us, I guess.

lol - newyorkmin - this is my 8th celebrated christmas so i have had lots of practice - i have wrapped about 40 gifts and they are all clearly identifable as from me cos my wrapping is crap. I use twice as much paper as i need and my bf complains like mad - buy hey he can wrap his own if he's that bovered! its the thought that counts!

one tip - be very careful about cutting loads of sellotape and sticking it to the edge of the table - I did that last night and this evening he started using it and lo and behold it stripped he varnish off the table!

thanks for the tip crumpet... but i did it on my bedroom floor, so my mother wouldn't catch me wrapping christmas a gift

After wrapping 7 gifts over and over for pass the parcel last week you'd think I was an expert but sadly no, I'm still terrible at it, must be the JW in me.
