I hope every R&F JW understands that the following part of the letter can AND should also apply to the new Advanced Directive / Blood Card that authorizes access of their medical records and charts to members of the Hospital Liaison Committee:

This makes me so mad - a carry-over from my (brief) days as a doula, I guess. As if an expectant mom doesn't have enough to worry about. Pregnant women already have to deal with hospitals treating them like problems to be fixed. Now sisters are supposed to make arrangements with the HLC so a bunch of unknowledgable, misguided non-professionals can invade the personal territory of pregnancy and childbirth. Women have no right to privacy since a natural process unique to women is now fair-game for the Compliance Police.

What does "patient information" have to do with a visit from a minister?
The Society is aware of the HIPAA laws, patients privacy. A patient's privacy in a hospitol or doctors office is protected by laws and a minister would need permission from the patient to visit. The hospitol could not disclose any information about the patient or even if the patient is there under this law.
It is all very complicated. I am a courier and I transport patients films, etc from one hospitol to another and cannot have any patient information visible to the public such as the patients name visible while someone can look through the window of my car.
Anyone working in Health Care must be HIPAA compliant.

Why is this letter of importance? How is it significant? It takes a long time to download stuff like that on my old 'puter and I don't want to be bothered if it's something meaningless. Why should I open it?
Does Blondie or Elsewhere.... anybody have the exact wording of the new blood card?
I want to find out if it specifically states that a patient cannot store his blood prior to a medical operation?
If it doesn't say that, then would that mean that now storing one's own blood with the intention of infusion back into the body after the operation is no longer viewed as objectionable by the WTS?

YC, the closest it came for the WTS to allow predonated blood was back in 2001. The destroyed blood card read as follows:
The part about "no allogeneic blood transfusions" meant that you would not accept these transfusions from another person. Due to this specific wording, it obviously was at one time approved by the GB for the r&f to donate and store their own blood prior to surgery. But someone must have withdrawn their vote and the bill did not reach a 2/3's majority. Give it time though. They have a timeframe which they seem to be following. Predonation will eventually come back around again. If the Big News sparks anything in the near future, we could possibly see an acceleration of that timeframe. This would be the ideal scenario - force them to make a move rather than having them wait on Jah's timetable for new light.
