A lot of abused spouses go back to their abusers, too. But that doesn't make it right.
How many ex JWs return to the Borg?

People who are wrenched away from their family, friends, and support structure, have a tendancy to hurt a lot. Some of them go back, some of them find a life outside. Those who go back are quite often there just for the people.
However, the story that is left out, here, is the walkaway. The vast, vast, majority of people who leave the organization are never disfellowshipped. They just drift away, gradually taking what they need from the world, and sipping at the association among Witnesses, as needed. These ones rarely go back. -

If I understood this question to be, how many Dfed for apostasy return? I would have to say, NONE!
They've already seen the real truth, not just the truth about "the Troof" and it would be impossible IMO to return.
Besides, the dubs wouldn't want you!

I personally have not know any that have left that has came back. That is the ones that have studied and left because they knew the Borg was not teaching the truth. Most that have left because they did like religion or where kicked out have returned. So most that know that the Borg is not the true religion do not go back.

There was a girl at my hall whose name is Chrissy that was df'd, then came back, and just recently da'd herself. I don't know why. She has fake boobs. She tries to look all sexy and what not.

Someone told me there are statistics showing that ultimately one third of JWs leaving will go back to the borg.
What statistics??!!?? BullSh*t
If it was only as simple as that, how many go through motion of being df then reinstated then df then reinstated until finally they see the "Truth"
and usually only those for "fornication" ever come back until they feel true "love" of Christian congregation even when they get reinstated.

As someone mentioned, some fall away but they never stop believing that it is the truth. Those are the ones who are likely to come back. But the ones who know that it is not the truth, they often don't go back. Then there are the ones who know it is not the truth, but they stay because they don't want to lose their family. And then there are the ones who go back when a natural disaster happens, thinking it's the beginning of the big A and they want to be on good terms with Jehovah in order to get their spot in paradise.
But of all the JWs who are "in", sometimes I wonder.. how many are "in" with their heart and their soul, and how many are there because they think it is the only way to live forever on a paradise earth? How many "true" JWs are there? My guess would be one out of 10, if that many!

I agree w/ Runningman.
Growing up in the bOrg, i saw most people return. They were the more pathetic-type so to speak. They NEEDED the support system that they were familiar with. They missed their families. They saw themselves as sinners (i guess).
The "free thinkers" leave without looking back.
Remember how being labelled a "free thinker" was a bad thing? I lOVE being a free thinker

75% who are disfellowshipped for porneia return is the figure I have heard a few times - but those that leave for apostasy I would think would be below 5%
