I guess I just might have been expecting something a bit more cryptic. Or a visit from the Illuminati. Or men in black. Possibly a talking pug or sea monkeys. And anyway, the Memphis is my screen name is in reference to Egypt. Maybe you were sent to the wrong lost person. I do hope you find your dear one from Tennesee. Thanks Jeannie. You're right, fortunately they bounce. It was just one of those really awful moments. Knowing that people you have trusted to tell you the "truth" are knowingly doing the opposite, is somewhat painful. LIke the rug was pulled out from under ya.

I remember the sea monkeys when I was growing up. I never ordered them from television. Jehovah actually enjoys Elvis music. He appreciates clean music, clean and simple humor, so He is not ALL scary like some try to portrait Him. He has even introduced me to many songs in dreams and also while awake. I just read your letter now, so you may not see my post at this late date but I hope you do. Your letter just amazed me. So many things that happened to you happened to me also. When you said you asked God to show you if you had the truth or not, that is exactly what I did. I really thought that by reading the NT it would show me that the JWs did have the truth, but instead, by reading the bible, all their teachings fell apart, one by one. So I can totally identify with everything you said in your letter, because these were all things I realized too. I disassociated a little over three years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. My JW sister hasn't spoken to me since and my JW elder brother has only spoken to me when he must but that is their choice, I couldn't stay in a cult full of lies just to satisfy my family.

You are strong and did the right thing.

Im only new here and still catching up on peoples reasonings for leaving the organisation. I also thought it was an amazing letter and good on you for writing it and having the courage to deliver it.

As much as i wont criticise the people who believe the JW faith, the organisation is so devisive, especially when it comes to families. All my brothers and sisters have been DF'd at one time or another, the only reason im not is because ive faded, but to see the devistation it causes to my mum and dad, its gut wrenching. Currently I have a sister that has faded, a brother that is DF'd and another brother that is trying to do what he thinks is the "right thing" but is questioning.

Does or does not the Society teach neutrality?
When a countless number of people have died for refusing to be involved with politics in any way, how can this be justified?
They (the WTS) says it was for a library card.
If this is true, and it is only a matter of they wanted to use the library,
Then why not allow witnesses to use the YMCA just to use the pool?

This kind of logic is not easily found among many JW's.
