Unbeliever, Disco may be dead, but all things live on in Gods mind according to the WTS. Maybe he will ressurect it. That would really be paradise.

Disco is dead.
Not everywhere......and not with everyone. It is a very fiery and graceful way of dance.

I got confused in my memory it was Bony M that were very popular in Europe but not the USA, they had some great hits.
BTW Madonnas latest super hit "Hang up" incorporates some ABBA music and sounds much like a 70's disco song. -

I was in elementary school in the 70's, But I really liked the Bee Gees. And that "Knock of Wood" song. But the Stones are my all time favorite. The Stones have a good beat and you can dance to it. :)

I love some disco music; just like all music, some is good, some is bad; it's a matter of personal taste. I love ABBA and the BeeGees and Donna Summers.
It's ironic to see older JWs dancing to this stuff now at wedding receptions.
Blondie (not allowed to listen to disco in the 70's)

Hey there, IronClaw, how's it going? I'm glad to find someone who likes Disco as much as I do----------------it's great stuff. Of course, everybody likes different things and to each is own, is what I say. But I've always liked disco.
Things like Bee Gees and Donna Summer and the Village People, they were OK, but they were very commercialized. I like the things that never made it to the radio, especially Eurodisco. As a DJ, you probably played some Alec Costandinos (Love & Kisses), right? I think that in one way or another, as composer, arranger or sideman, he was responsible for about half of the Casablanca Records A & R list.
Let's see.............what else have I played lately? How about 'Take a Bite' by Marlena Shaw. Or 'Keep On Holdin' On' by Margaret Reynolds. Boris Midney, Hemyl, Musique, France Joli, Salsoul Orchestra. All those have been on the turntable lately. Right now, I think my favorite disco song is 'Love Won't Be Denied' by Len Boone.
Oh yeah, not too long ago, I found a 12" of The Chequers 'Undecided Love' in a thrift store. How about that? I need to check that out-------------------I'm thinking it might have a little value.
By the way, I never went to discos------the Society came down so hard on it that I didn't want to press my luck, so I just played the music. After all these years, I still do. Nice to meet you, IC.

I have a turntable too (bought it about 15 years ago) to play the 200 record albums I have. Fortunately, I never got into the 8-track thing.

David, Blondie: I DJ'd back from 79-82, on kinda part-time basis to make a little side cash. I would fill in for guys on vaca and things like that. I also did oldies night and saturday morings at the skating rink. Boy back in the day those places were packed. I enjoy all music, 50's 60's 70's and early 80's. But I must admit I love R&B soul and disco the most. Have met and made plenty of friends still in radio. Thouhgt about going back into it as a hobby. Been looking into setting up an internet station on the side. The Stylistics are my favorite group. Have loved watching the doo wop and 70's shows on Public TV. Have all the tapes. Glad to see Im not alone.
